I've been waiting for Losi to get back into the mini market! I hope they make the mini sct, I still have mine, and my Bull Terrier loves chasing it through the house! Hopefully the battery in this fits the early cars, so they will be easier to get!
@senorpinchegringo7623Ай бұрын
"Do you think this release will get a micro race scene going..." Are you serious with this nonsense? Tiny RC's are trending because the micro race scene is already going and has been for some time. What other scale has a series that let's people race at home against people from around the world? That's right micros. Look up Mini 96 and if you know about that already and the fact that the micro racing scene has already taken off then stop asking questions you already know the answer to and be more authentic. This micro is just an addition to a scale that's already proven to be successful and you can thank Kyosho for that, because they are the ones that got the micro race scene going. To answer your question, just like every other release, most will be bashed (used in the house) and about 30% will be raced. I also think it's great that Losi re-entered the micro market and strongly feel this release will attract more to the hobby than their recent NASCAR release.

I generally don't like buggies but would take an oval /rallycross conversion kit in an instant. I'm still holding a grudge against Losi for discontinuing the 1/32 micros. Maybe this buggy will help some.
I will wait for the Micro-T, doesn't really have any advantages over my two kyosho mini-z buggies and I already have all the spare parts and upgrades for them. That out of the box speed is perfect 12-13 mph is around the same as the stock mini-z buggy and you can squeeze a bit more out of it on the top end if you swap the spur and pinion gears with the included ones.
@senorpinchegringo7623Ай бұрын
I have a stock Kyosho buggy and I highly doubt it tops out at 12-13 mph with a lower turn motor and less powerful batteries. This is also going to drive a bit differently than the Kyosho due to it being RWD and it's slightly longer and wider. They are completely different animals, why not have both on the shelf and a T.

It looks like it has great acceleration. Will they have changeable pinions if you want to give it a hair more top end for tracks?
@senorpinchegringo7623Ай бұрын
The motor plate looks the same as the one used in the Mini's, except that it's smaller and it doesn't appear to come with additional pinions. I'm hoping Losi used the standard gear pitch on this thing, so we can use pinions that have already been made for this scale. As of now I haven't seen an adjustable motor plate released, so for now if you want to change gearing and it uses a standard micro gear pitch, you're going to need a dremel.

As long as the gears in the gearbox aren't soft plastic and it's used as intended I'm betting it holds up much better than the original micros and I think it's safe to say they will perform a lot better as well.

I definitely want to get one! I thought the the mini-b in its idealized form, was the cheapest quickest way to get into rc racing level handling (of 2wd buggy)... Is this meant to be exactly like the mini-b, but cheaper and scaled down further?
@senorpinchegringo7623Ай бұрын
Idealized form, according to who? The micro is a scaled down version, which in my opinion is much more ideal than a 1/16th buggy for indoor use and I know from experience, I tried to run my Mini-B indoors and it didn't go so well. Have you ever owned a Mini-Z? I run a MR-03 Evo and a MB-010 indoors, this is such an awesome and fun scale, because they can be ran in small tight spaces that have a semi smooth surface.

Love the micro’s, BUT the electronics always seem to fail. The 2-1 esc setups do not last. Then you get into replacing vs upgrading and then your affordable little micro turns into waaay more trouble and $$ …Probz still get one tho 😊
@brushlessmicrotАй бұрын
I never had an issue with the ESCs breaking. Usually it was the motor, especially the brushless ones. The tiny bullet connectors would just pull from the wire or the wire would just pull from the motor, or sometimes the magnets would come unglued inside the motor.
@senorpinchegringo7623Ай бұрын
Do yourself a favor and ditch the stock electronics and pick up a sensored ESC and brushless motor for this buggy and it will become the RC you use the most. Like 1:1 cars, RC's generally benefit when you throw some money at them and they are only trouble if you are using it outside of it's intended use and/or putting in a motor you are unable to tame.

What kinda of square footage do ya think would make an adequate carpet track??
@rcdriverАй бұрын
The carpet track I ran on was 20x50 and it seemed just right. But it could probably be fun in a 2-car garage are which is typically like 20x20.
@senorpinchegringo7623Ай бұрын
I live in a 600 sq ft apartment. Obviously all of that square footage is not available to use, so I can't tell you how big my track is other than it's longer than a Mini-96 set and it's no deeper than 12'. I taped out a course using whatever usable space left that I could see on the carpeted floor of my apartment. My lanes are mostly 17 inches wide, I know, narrow. I am currently running a MR-03 Evo 5600Kv and a currently stock MB-010 with no issues and I find it adequate. The Micro B is slightly longer and wider than the MB-010, but I don't think that's going to be an issue on my course. Yes of course I wish my track was bigger, but my suggestion is to make the most of what you have, you'll have a blast.
