Great car and video. Tamiya Brings back great memories from being a teenager. I saved and saved and ended up with 3 Tamiya RC buggies with my parents help. I had The Frog, Wild Willy Jeep and the Boomerang. I preferred the Boomerang as if recall, was 4X4 and also seemed quicker. I made my Father laugh once as just before going to school one day I put The Boomerang under an empty box with Ariel sticking out. Bin Men/Garbage Men came to throw rubbish in the wagon. One came for the box as I watched from a window in my house, he got closer. When about to pick it up, it shot off up the street at speed. It frightened the life out of him. LOL!!!!! I would love to get another and do a review on it as now an adult.

I hold the TT02 very close to my heart. I love that it's such an entry level car but can become competitive if you put time into it. It's also super versatile being that it can go from a touring car to rally, drift, 4WD and finally buggy. I'm glad it's getting all the love it deserves and I hope that they release a TT03 chassis in the future. But I honestly don't know how they can improve on such a modular design

Came here because I own one of these kits. First time hobby RCer and this was my kit. I admit though I went a bit TOO crazy all at once and save for a few parts like the universal shafts, adjustable camber arms and metal gears, she’s become a bit OTT (any option part you can think of for this chassis, my car has it! Again, OTT). Originally bought as a budget drift car, I’ve grown to loving this chassis. It’s really, really good. Puts a smile on my face every time I run it. Just to note: better to buy a standard kit and slap Super Drifttech tires on it than forking $100 more for the dedicated “Drift Spec” chassis and body set. The Mustang GT4 kit can be had for $100 and turned into a TT-02D cheaper than just buying the TT-02D. *FYI, only the kits that were released at the time of the 30th anniversary got the certificate and sticker set. Mine was manufactured in 2020 and didn’t have either commemorative items.
@ccrum323 жыл бұрын
I wish we got a R33 TT-02 standard kit! It’s only in a drift spec which is odd for a car that exceeded in touring car racing.
@guillermomora61782 жыл бұрын
TT-02D have oil shocks, aluminum heatsink for the motor, sport tunned instead of torque tunned motor, super drift tech tires (as you said) and most times the wheels are chrome plated which is a bit more expensive. In my area TT-02D runs about 50 to 80 dollars more depending on the kits. I just got this Mustang and no letter, no stickers, I feel like the part number should've been different, for example the limited version with the decal ans stickers should be a 47xxx number and then do 58xxx without the anniversary things. How is the customer supposed to know if the box still says 30th Anniversary?

What does the turns mean on a brushed motor, I know it is the amount of turns of copper wire inside the motor, but what does it mean in terms of torque and speed. Does a 12 turn motor have more speed or torque than a 17 or 21 turn brushed motor?
@w4rr10r115 жыл бұрын
Yes. From what I was told, less windings means less resistance. So a 12T motor would produce more speed a 55T motor, but since the 55T motor has more windings it produces more torque rather than speed. That's why you see a lot of high turn brushed motors being used on crawlers and low turn brushed motors for racing.

Tbh the tt02 sucks when it comes to turning. But they're still wildly fun if you've got a big open parking lot. Throw the brushed motor in the trash and go brushless and you'll need enough parking lot for the speed that the turning circle won't bother you at all.
