That has been my major gripe with this truck ever since traxxas cane out with it. At its price point there is no reason for the bed not be functional and also there should be rear tandem duals

Been looking forward to this one, but agree on features Traxxas missed: the biggest issues are no tilt bed & no clear windows, plus no molded grill & no body posts. A replacement clear body would solve a couple of those problems. I'm sure 3D printed grills & tilt bed assemblies are coming, but until then, I'll hold off on getting one.

This is either going to take off in the aftermarket scene like the CEN F450, become a platform for monster 6x6 crawler builds, or just peter out. It seems like a very small niche in the market. The lighting is the best part! (oh, and the extra axle too.)

Trail recovery rig, winch front and rear. Fold down ramps etc... Use it to haul a rock bouncer or comp crawler into the trails. Lots of potential. A full interior would be sick too.

I am completely disappointed that, the bed doesn't work like a regular tow truck what the heck. If the bed tilted and moved backwards like a regular tow truck did it would be absolutely completely unforgettably awesome, but yet they left one of the biggest parts to the imagination. I am disappointed with that part of it, if they added that feature they could have got another $400 more. other than that it looks great I won't buy one.

Their radios have the same adjustments as like a spektrum dx4c. Using the menu set and battery light. You can really get the trigger feel dialed with a 9t pinion gear should have the 45t spur already on the 2 speed I run a cralmaster sport 16t 5 slot so so smooth. Cheap mods then program your trigger sensitivity to the right speed control knob. And check your steering end points in the menu those remotes offer a lot for stocker. Good job Traxxas. Man I can remember buying their traxxas rustler rtr when no other company companies offered rtr. It came with that scorpion motor mechanical speed control with servo for the throttle not electronic speed control. The transmissions were plastic gears and the white plastic was questionable. NOW look at these rigs there amazing. My first trx4 when it hit in like 2017 has yet to brake any hard parts at all. Three servos 🥲. I’m thankful these companies opened up to our scale needs and then some!!

That body/cab without the flat bed on a trx6 with a 5th wheel and a monsterized flatbed trailer would be the ultimate hauler setup. Could tow your cars, crawlers, boats, etc.. If you wanted something extreme that nobody else has done to go with that, use another set of trx6 rear axles on the trailer, give the trailer it's own slave ESC & motor to match the trucks, and have a powered trailer. 10x10 beast of a tow rig that will go anywhere.

3D printing and a linear actuator will solve that fixed bed issue quickly. Won't take long we will have a easy tilt bed. If I could get ahold of one of these for design use I could have something ready pretty quickly.

One thing I have learned over the years, as I'm sure you have as well... is that traxxas will have a plethora of upgrades in the future for this rig, I have no doubt that some upgrades are in the process, like the molded grill you spoke about, I'm pretty confident they will get the bed to move as well, all a matter of time!! I agree. Traxxas has certainly stepped up the support accessories for their RC's. A lot of the TRX-4 options will already bolt up to the chassis, hopefully we'll see some more accessories for the specific Hauler body and bed.

Custom diamond steel/hardwood bed w/swivel crane, box truck, stake bed, offroad adventure vehicle, tow truck, honey wagon, spider truck, milk truck anything else you could possibly do with a 5-ton, 10-ton truck. Whatever that figures out to be. Think I'd do the custom hardwood steel aluminum sliding tilt bed with the winch.

Still unsure why they didn't use the titling bed from the snap on trx6. Seems like a large oversight. The people that would be investing in this would appreciate the scale use of the tilting/telescoping bed.

Shouldn’t shift the transmission on the fly at full throttle, the shift mechanism is plastic and can break when shifting with too much torque applied.

The window clearing isn't a problem, the grill I'm thinking maybe a different kind of theme anyway, but you mentioned that the bed is screwed to the chassis do you think it helps to support those extended rails or does the rails have cross members to support them? And one last thing is there room for using my Custom Logo Sand Ladder's using for ramps to slide under the bed in the middle or outside of the rails?
