I got the Trx6 Monday. It’s awesome. After watching both of your 6x6 videos I decided to get both. Two is always better than one.

The time you put into preparing this review really shows. Extremely thorough, fast-paced, not repetitive. A lesson for everyone. Oh, about the clicking -- could be the ring and pinion disengaging under heavy load, inside one of the pumpkins. That's what happened to me with my RBK. Went away when I retired the sintered OEM gears in favour of hardened steel from SSD.

NaturallyRC Thanks. Could be, I probably should have mentioned that as a possibility too.

Had my new UMG6X6 out for about a 5 hour run yesterday. This truck works great on the trails. Despite it's length, and slight tendency to push in the front end on tight turns, it is extremely agile and has climbed things I've been trying to climb for years. Zero issues with it, and again, it is a great platform for future projects... But I WILL be swapping in a 45t motor for the extra torque. The two channel radio that comes with it is "adequate" but doesn't allow for much "tuning". I've paired it with my Spektrum DX5 Rugged, and the truck is now dialed in and running like a dream. I will be enjoying this truck for years to come...

@BlueDually4x45 жыл бұрын
The two rear axles will want to push the front end straight no matter how much servo you have. I can tell you from experience locking up both rear axles on a ten wheeler or an eighteen wheeler the drive axles pretty much push you straight unless you have a lot of weight on the steering axle. That is the only real advantage the Traxxas has, even factoring in you will have to replace those servos after an outing or two. A heavier front bumper would help it a little, but anytime you have more traction or weight on the rear it will want to just go straight. I really feel at this point, I would build my own 6x6 as the bodies of the Axial and Traxxas are just not my thing. One of the Cross RC military style 6x6 would be cool.

Have been looking t the unimog 6 wheel drive ever since it first came out,still can't decide if I really want one or not. Have the unimog scx10-2 ,and a couple of other scx10-2s,also have a couple or traxxas trx4s.just not sure of the 6x6
@rcdriver5 жыл бұрын
It's something different. A different type of driving experience.

Good luck finding the occasional click,my umimog also clicks on occasion,I have taken the transmission apart 3 times and can't find anything to cause it.
@rcdriver5 жыл бұрын
It's really weird and random. I've had runs with zero clicks. I've tried jamming the throttle in forward and reverse rapidly on 3S and no clicks. One run I heard clicks going over a realitively flat surface. One run I heard a few climbing. Just odd...

@roadhazard66205 жыл бұрын
Do you have a UMG6x6 of your own? You can make the statement that yours is better, which I strongly doubt, but can you back it up with the experience of having driven one? Again, I doubt it. I have the new UMG6x6, and have had it out for about a 4 hour trail run. It climbs very well, and with the SCX10 II AR44 axles great steering, it is also quite nimble. It works very well as a trail rig. Probably better than yours does. It is also a great base for future projects....
@michaelroot60645 жыл бұрын
@@roadhazard6620 it's ugly
@roadhazard66205 жыл бұрын
Michael Root That is what you base your statement on...? Really? That is all you have...? "It' ugly..." ? You are a deep well of wisdom, friend. I have one, I have run it on the trail, as well as having run many other scale trail rigs, and this is a different animal than the 4x4's. It handles very well, is very nimble, and Axial has had a hand in the scale truck scene for a fairly long time. The Axial UMG trucks are based on the UniMog, which was not built to be pretty like your wee weekend warrior Ford, but as a working truck. At least drive one before making slagging it, that will give a bit of credibility to your words. Not trying to be nasty, just saying that to comment on the truck with no idea of how it runs is... childish.
