I have a Kraton 4s v2 and I haven't had the issues that I read about all of the time! I never broke an A-Arm, bearings held up with no issues (still running the factory) and I never had any issues from the axles. The only issue I have had, is worn out gears (I drive a lot) and the slipper thrust bearing. I have 16 Thunder Power 8200 55C batteries and I probably have more than 200+ battery packs through my Kraton. My upgrades; I never used the factory radio, I put my Spektrum on it as soon as I got it out of the box, and after 2 years, I wanted a better ESC and servo on it. I put a Mamba Monster X on it and a cheap Amazon water proof servo on it. Other than that, it's been rock solid!

Stellar review, I would have liked to see a bit harder send (similar to what the guys at Amain did in their review) in addition to the track footage, but that's nitpicky on me. For the truck itself, it definitely looks like a blast to drive. Wish Arrma would relegate the SLT3 transmitter to cheap trucks and pack the DX3 in with higher end stuff though.

I just recently raced the arrma Talian exb with truggy tires and a 4s system at my local track and placed first in my class over Losi's Tekno and Koyosho Truggies. Granted I was the better driver that day I'm still surprised how well these Arrmas can do with the right tires and minor suspension and diff tuning. They are actually racing capable against higher-end machines. Don't let the Losi Tekno and Kyosho fanboys tell you otherwise. They just don't like being beaten by a basher. I wish the racers were more accepting. Unfortunately at the club track, I race and there are a bunch of snobs who take it too seriously and ruin it for the rest of us. They shy away from people with bashers which is wrong. We need more people in races so be it if they show up with a Kraton 4s V2, at least more people are signing up which means more money for the track which in turn can save it from disappearing like so many have because of mom and pop hobby shops closing down do to people buying online. If you race at a local track please be kind to the kids with the inexpensive bashers and help them be competitive with what they have.

I’ve been running a Rustler 4x4 for a year now and upgraded every darn thing and I still break way too much stuff all the time. I love the fact that Arrma will address issues before release for the most part. I have an Xmaxx as well and the particle metal they call a spur and pinion shredded all but 5 combined teeth on said pinion and spur. I called traxxas and was told, Ya they do that, just buy another.? Seriously, this $1000 Machine has been an ongoing problem they know about and will not put stronger gears in. I put a tekno pinion and a Hot Racing spur in due to the hardness and the tekno having a 2.5mm grub that has a flat grub bottom for a flat fit. Yesterday a Tekno tooth broke. I hate taking the pinion out as it's so hard to get to stay on and with threadlock so hard to get off if swapping. And really the shaft that rounds off. They should have done the D bore pinion like Arrma did. Looking at getting rid of the X-maxx 8s with green body, proline brute body, proline badlands, Duratrax Hatchet X, aluminum Hot Racing Upper gearbox cover , 2x4s batteries for and grab both of the Arrma Kraton and Outcast 4s. Or one or the other and finish my 6s lineup with the Talion. I have the 6s versions of the Kraton and NoCast.and are a little easier to work on, especially getting motor out and servicing diffs. Plus being disabled, I sold my motorcycle and bout a Xmaxx and am now find it to heavy to lug around due to several back surgeries and right leg broke in 3 spots. So 1/10-1/8 is perfect. All my RC's I worked off by working on RC's when my local hobbyshop needs extra hands, or I would not have the ones I do. Private Hobbytown owners are tr he best. Paid minimum wage on a gift card for the hrs the needed. Took awhile but I only had to put up $250 to finish. Ya took awhile. Lol. But then spent $ on all the thing trying to make it my own. But that damn pinion. I know I may have to grind the shaft flat on the edge again.

Why buy the 4s Kraton for $470 when you can get a 6s Kraton for $550 ????
@robbryan30442 жыл бұрын
Let the battle begin. In many ways, this new Kraton 4S "1-ups" the Traxxas Sledge...ESPECIALLY in price...but, there are certain aspects of the Sledge that are better. I do really like that Arrma (at least for these new 4S vehicles) had moved away from the upper arms/links attaching via ballcups. For small competitive race vehicles (such as 1/10 buggies, SCTs, & truggies), the user of ballcups is perfectly fine...but, for bashing vehicles, it's a HUGE 'no-no' for me (and others), which is exactly why I've completely avoided Arrma vehicles. However, this new Kraton 4S could persuade me to reconsider purchasing the Sledge...at the same time, it would also mean having to sell all the Sledge upgrades I've already purchased (essentially, everything except the soon-to-be-released 7075 chassis from M2C Racing). Of course, of I can sell all those upgrades for no less than a "minimal loss", the sale of those upgrades would almost pay for the Kraton 4S. Now...that sounds like a "plan". 🤙🏼

I would say the Maxx is a closer competitor to the new Arrma 4s lineup
@robbryan30442 жыл бұрын
@@jbrc1322 I do get what you're trying to say...but, unfortunately...you don't, can't, and (definitely) shouldn't be comparing a single vehicle against a "lineup" of vehicles. That would be like trying to compare a single Toyota model against all Hondas. Now, if you want to look at them with a more accurate comparison, and look at the types of vehicles each of the new Arrma 4S BLX vehicles are, and then compare them against the current lineup of Traxxas vehicles, you'll find the following. First, the Kraton-Sledge comparison I originally started is an accurate one, as both are (essentially) truggies. Second, the Maxx would be more compatible to the new Outcast 4S, as both are "wide stance trucks" (ie. not truggies). You seem to be focusing primarily on the size of the vehicles, whereas I'm focusing on the total vehicle...but, again, I do understand your comparison suggestion. I'm not going to make any purchase decision just yet...partly because I need to do research on ALL options, partly because I don't have the funds right now (am I'm correctly "upgrading" my new RAV4...just lifted it, and making a decision on tires), and possibly because I need to (temporarily) stop responding to KZbin, RCC, & OSE replies, and log into work.

i wish they would have made the shock towers look better. they look like they are from the original RC trucks ever made. looks cheap. i like the all plastic chassis though. i hate Arrmas aluminum chassis. they bend right away. plastic for bashers

The towers could look better , but those things feel solid.

Plastic pivot balls still? Ridiculous
@truerc2 жыл бұрын
@Vape N Clash Irrelevant. Buyers should not have to upgrade pivot balls when basically no other reputable company sells a $200+ r/c with plastic ones. It's flat out absurd, especially considering the nearly $500 price tag of this. End of story.

@Vape N Clash I actually can't recall seeing plastic pivot balls on any other "decent" brands. To be fair though, I don't pay much attention to anything under $150 or 10th scale so there probably are some. However, this is almost $500 so there's no excuse for cutting costs on parts like those.

@Vape N Clash Basically, post me a link to a reputable brand with plastic balls. I can't think of one. Other companies typically have more sense I guess.

Junk. Buyer beware. The chassis is horrible. The v2.5 is on the way. I’m staying away from this brand. Period.

Wow…..the amount of dirt and grit the Kraton 4S collects internally is a maintenance problem. Last thing I want to be doing is tearing gear and diff housings apart after each run to keep it clean. Also didn’t like the way the shocks are rubbing on the axles. That’s a design flaw that Arma should have fixed before release.
