One of favorite go to rigs for neighborhood races and some competitive track times while running in this class. I dont do the basher jumps with this one though. But straight out of the box on 2s its been super solid. Only ever HAD to dismantle it but was for basic maintenance. Diff oils and gear checks. Love it as much as my trx udr.

I know this video is a year old, but it was of great help to me yesterday when I installed the SSD aluminum front bulkhead on my Baja Rey V2. I went back to your video today, and realized I had made a very minor mistake in getting the lower hinge pins in. I was able to correct the mistake with the body on in a matter of minutes with only partial disassembly of the RPM bumper and lower hinge pin retainer. If it hadn't been for your video I wouldn't have been able to find and correct my error. Thank you for great Baja Rey upgrade videos.

What’s the part number for the front shocks. Also what did you use for pivot balls to fit the front shock tower. You only listed the rear. Thank you very much
@F-U-CKYTCensorship Жыл бұрын
I think he skipped a step unintentionally.. the front shocks installed in this video are listed as “rear” shocks from Pro-Line #6063-01 for the Slash 4x4.. a bushing or ball insert is certainly missing for the top mount and it isn’t shown being swapped out here but he does say he swaps out the lower ball.. 🤷🏻♂️

I have found that it’s way easier working on these trucks to just remove the entire body and roll cage together as one…I believe like 12 screws. A couple of screws by the B pillar are tricky to get too with the body on but still much faster taking everything off together! I’ve done just about everything you’ve done to yours and what a difference it makes with durability and handling!

Hey, good video I also have a older Losi Baja Rey truck I got from a facebook deal that I plan on doing a build on the youtubes here on my channel eventually. One of the question I do have is, when I was taking apart my truck all the screws and such were all rusty and I wanted to change them all out with stainless steel ones, is there a kit I could buy that has all the screws required to be able to put the truck back together completely with stainless steel screws, anyways let me know please of if someone else in the comments knows maybe they can help, thank your for your time, have a great day!

After owning my Baja Rey for a while and seeing the different variations of that platform, I wish I had researched my purchase and gotten a Hammer Rey, w/ a more robust suspension. Just finished w/ the aluminum upgrade parts for all of the pivot points, like upper/lower rear control arm attachments, shock towers, steering knuckles, front CV driveshafts, etc. I'm now looking at shock upgrades to improve my suspension compliance over rough terrain. A real blast to zip around the yard or field w/ abandon, but have to say that 3S mode is a bit too much power (I've got the transmitter set at the 25% throttle setting) and will look into getting some 2S batteries for a more sane experience vs ludicrous mode on 3S.

Look at the Hammer Rey, w/ a much more robust chassis and suspension and dual rear shocks and HD driveshafts up front vs fairly thin metal versions on the Baja Rey (although you can buy upgraded CV versions). Better wheels/tires, too.

Great video and great project! This is a bit off topic but I have been seeing this lately along with some of my buying decisions that Arrma has started using a new radio system recently with their 1/10 scale cars. The new transmitter, the Spectrum STX2 has faced some controversy over the previous, Tactic TTX 300. I am looking to buy the Arrma Big Rock 4x4 BLX and saw this issue. I work very hard for my money and want to invest it well so if you could please do a review on these two radio systems and give your opinions that would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure why you're working on it with the boat panels removed, and cage still attached...IT'S MUCH, MUCH easier to work on with the cage REMOVED. Not only that, but, removing just the body panels requires removing 20 screws. On to of that, to get to the center section, you'll have almost a dozen more screws to remove (Lexan interior, "radiator fans, etc), and, even then, you won't have full access to the entire center section. On the other hand, removing just the cage is as simple as removing only 12 screws. Not only that, but, by removing just the 12 screws attaching the cage to the chassis, you would then have access to EVERYTHING. Put another way, you're not just don't things the "hard way"...you doing things the "extra hard way".

In my experience you don’t fill in those difs with oil, you are going to create a lot of drag and kill your battery run time. These difs are not like the 1/8 race cars you are used to. I recommend grease for what it’s worth.
@rcdriver4 жыл бұрын
The gears inside of a diff will eventually cut a path through grease and lose the resistance, causing the truck to “diff out” more and heat up. This not only leads to poor handling but possible parts failure sooner. Oil is the preferred choice for diff tuning.
@bransonbasher65344 жыл бұрын
So, you do know how to fill a diff with silicone oil. I was really wondering if you had forgotten how to do that. I thought maybe running RTRs for quick reviews had made you lazy or maybe dementia was getting the better of you.
