btw, the pre-made mounting holes on the ess-one+ has a same distance as the rear body post, just put the speaker unit side ways, and you can see is a perfect fit

Great to see that excited smile. I was going to mention about all the other sounds available to choose for engine, turbo, horn.. but you got that covered in the description. Got three different rigs with them, its cool once in awhile and I usually only run it about volume 2, I'm not the only bear in the woods and don't want to disturb the other visitors. Its okay to let the trail get a bit wild, makes it more challenging and opens up new lines to try. Thanks for the show.

Thanks, yeah I think I'll use it long term but have the volume down low so it's more subtle but adds that additional element. I forgot how capable the TRX-4 is too (minus the weigh of the body)! I've been eyeing the proline jeep rubicon or ford raptor body....

I bought a used trx4 and the one that I got has the same speaker. So cool to have the sound, but when it’s crawling the sound is not that accurate but still, i like it 😊

I have a question for you @thercgirl! I purchased the ESS dual sound system (which plugs into the channel 2 throttle port on the receiver) but I also want to upgrade my servo and the external BEC plugs into the same port. Do you know if it's safe to use both? I have contacted the manufacturer of each item for clarification but have yet to hear back. I know you have used both (or similar) and was curious if you could provide any insight to help me out? Thanks!

They make a bigger lid for the receiver that a bec will fit in. Does that sound good in real life? it's hard to tell from my phone speakers

Yeah I think this is a hemi engine sound. I didn't get a chance to try out the other engine sounds yet, but it's really loud in real life!

If Jaguar can pipe in the 'enhanced' exhaust note of your F-Type through the Bose stereo system why shouldn't RC cars offer the same visceral sonic joy? I'm a RC novitiate and this IMO is one of the most clever upgrades I've yet seen. Lights and winches are cool, but this slams no matter the time of day or terrain. You make very informative vids BTW.

RC Girl ....yes...they make them with add- on wheels for carpets. Not the greatest unless brushless...but still...another collection piece. New Bright is the only company I can think of ...but...all looks , no go. Forget I mentioned it. Try the MJX Mini Bugs3 quadcopters....my real agenda...mwa ha ha! Please try one.... you'll love it... really. Or does your R.C. not include quadcopters? Just messing with you, Hayley....if you've never tried one, get an inexpensive toy grade, just to learn. Lots under $30. I just received WLToys F949 Cessna beginner trainer for $40...never tried a fixed wing...I'll let you know.

Thank you for an instructive, informative and entertaining video as always! Nice with some V8 burble on start up and V8 growl in the terrain, sounds realistic too and added to to a scale trail truck like this one, it make the driving experience even more enjoyable. The Land Rover Defender was delivered with a V8 so it realistic with V8 sound. Here in Europe most Defenders have an in line 4 cylider diesel. Can the ESS One have 4 cylinder diesel sound too? But I think I prefer the V8 burble anyway :). By the way, impressive backyard trail! Cheers.

Thanks! Yeah there are a ton of different engine sound options. There is a program you can download (www.sensehobby.com/rcx/) where you can browse different sounds. You just upload them back into your sound system. I need to try an engine that is a bit more subtle for the defender next!

I picked one up but haven't figured how to use it yet on my Traxxas UDR with the built in battery connectors. I was wondering if I can use a separate battery just for the ESS. I really want to use the aux cable for a police siren, trophy trucks use sirens for passing and to warn spectators.

Yeah I think you can use a separate lipo, but there won't be any LVC with it so just watch that you don't run the lipo too low.

How do I make an adapter or can I buy a splitter or addaptor. Cant find anything on Amazon. It a little difficult because I am stationed in Germany and parts are not readily available. It's pretty easy to program new sounds. You just plug it into a USB dongle. I was going to show it as part of the vid then didn't get around to it. You can check out the program here (www.sensehobby.com/rcx/) - pc only - but it has tons of different options and they are free. You just select the sounds you want set for the "start up," "idle," "shifting," etc. and upload them back into your sound system.
