This is s super valuable video. It motivated me to give my anycubic the tlc it needed. And now i am printing my first heat tower (great tip). I use autotowers generator for cura. Summer heat and humidity vs cold winters and dry air can also greatly alter the print quality and can make a recalibration necessary. Thanks again for the great tips!

Top tip for all of you watching. Upgrading needs to be done one part at a time. Install set up and get it printing right BEFORE adding the next. A mistake i made, buy it all fit it all together. nothing works and its extremely hard if you aint clued up to find and fix the problems. One step at a time. Youll thank me.

Ive thought about getting into 3d printing just to print spare parts for my rc. I figure with a printer costing between 300-500 i could make that back in 10-20 repairs or so not to mention all the stuff i could use it for around the house.

@RCGirl You are printing at an extremely slow speed. That printer with the Sonic Pad running Klipper is capable of printing much faster with the same quality. Creality provides Cura Profiles for the Sonic Pad that are a great starting point. Your 17h print could have been done in 5 hours give or take an hour. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I use the Sonic Pad too with my Ender 3 S1 Pro.
@wrbrc4865 Жыл бұрын
If you use the sensor that comes with the Sonic pad to calibrate it you can print at high speeds with 0 ghosting.
@RCGirl Жыл бұрын
@@wrbrc4865 Yeah I was hoping to get the best quality possible by going slower at first. I'll have to up the speeds. Still have not used the resonance compensation sensor but that's next!

First of all, an excellent video, in fact I have my basecamp and I have put many things on it to decorate it, until a moment came when I said I would need a 3d printer for my future crawlers and this video came to me, by the way, speaking of the basecamp I am super excited about see that basecamp kit and everything you bought to mount it, I want to see what color you paint that pro-line bodywork.
@RCGirl Жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Getting a 3d printing seems to be a really fun expansion of the rc modeling hobby. I'm building the kit now. I think i'm going to go with matte black and gold for the body, but we'll see ;)
@erickhuntergames Жыл бұрын
@@RCGirl I can already imagine it, and I can tell you that they will be some spectacular colors and even more so in matte, personally my first and favorite option will always be red and black if possible with some touches of gray or white but always prioritizing red and black, hopefully and post the process of how you painted the body, I would like to learn from you, will you use a liquid mask? How exciting to see your work ready =D ... sorry i know this video is about the 3d printing and the trailer, just my mind was blown when i saw your instagram and the bc kit =D

I was just like you when getting a 3D printer and watching the first few prints intensely and how cool it is. I got the ender 3-s1 pro about 5mths ago, so fairly new as well to 3D printing. I use Cura for slice and tinkercad for design. 😀

Thank you for your fantastic review, good luck on your 3d printing journey, I have been printing for5 years and have just brought the ender 5 s1 with the sonic pad I am a bit concerned about using the sonic pad as all my other printers use marlin firmware, is it easy to use.
@RCGirl Жыл бұрын
Yes it's a breeze, especially if you've been printing for years. You'll have to tinker a bit in whichever slicer you're using to link it and make sure that the object thumbnails show up on the sonic pad. Let me know if you have questions

The sonic pad isn’t for everyone. It’s much more technical than a 3d printer without one. It runs klipper, not marlin. That said, I like mine.

I would have gotten the Bambu labs instead for that price. I'm almost 2 weeks in 3d printing picked up the ender 3 v2 for 98 on sale. Raspberry pi etc is not needed. It's more of a want. But for ender I do recommend marlin, or at least a marlin flavor.
