So many great upgrade ideas here! Beautiful DIN rail mounting solution, and amazing cable management. That bandsaw cut the G10 way easier than the hacksaw method I used!
@NathanBuildsRobots Жыл бұрын
You should get a laser cutter so you can precisely cut G10. As an added benefit it will generate a toxic cloud in your office that will kill any cockroaches, rodents, etc.

I am thinking of using CAN bus to simplify the tool head wiring on my printer. I have an SKR 3 and an EBB36. Is the U2C board required for this? I am confused because the SKR 3 has a CAN port. Also, why aren't you using the RGB power to run the Pi? Great video, just hoping to get everything figured out before I start.

What I find is there are so many uses for a 3D printer than I ever thought. Bought my first one 6 or 7 years ago and have never once printed anything other than tools and replacement parts for various things. Anyway, I'm enjoying these as much as I do the wood working, I also do some limited machining as well. Too many hobbies for me, but the 3D printers keeps me coming back. I'm expecting delivery on a Formbot Troodon 2.0 (loose Voron clone) that I hope will get me up to speed with the later printers out today. My old CR10 while reliable, is getting long in the tooth. Anyway, thanks for the video, it's a very interesting build that ticks most if not all boxes. Thanks Guy! Edit to add, surprised you didn't go with the Mercury 1 upgrade. 🙂
@GuysShop Жыл бұрын
I have looked at the Troodon, and think it's pretty interesting in the way it gets set up. Seems much simpler than a full Voron build. Myself, I would welcome the challenge of building a Voron from parts. The V 0.2 I built I love!

Hello, how are you? I wanted to ask you about a problem I have in my Core xy what happens to me is that when I move the axis and the x axis also moves you have an idea what it can be!? In the programming, is there a problem!? The straps and pulleys are new and are very tight!

Really light the modifications in your video. Most I have not seen anywhere else. Well done! One question, where did you get the light rail. I see the link to buy the LED light strips but not the rail and diffuser you put the lights into. I am printing the front bar relocating brackets right now and the light addition solves a big problem I have been having with being able to see the nozzle when leveling and adequate lighting.
@GuysShop Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The light rail aluminum extrusion and diffuser was bought on amazon. It was a couple years ago, but any exrusion will work.

Does anyone know where he got the middle black portion of the camera mount seen at 17:31 ? I printed the rest of the mount and I have the same camera, but I have no idea how he actually mounted the camera to the 3-D printed part...

Thank You for all of the wonderful content. I found you from listening to The Perfect First Layer podcast. You've done some awesome mods to your Ender 5. I'm personally not a fan of the Hero Me. stuff. I give props to the creator. He's done a ton of work on that project and has always given his stuff away for free to the hobbyist. He's one of the good guys. I just find the Hero Me eco-system to be big, clunky and it really doesn't perform well . Your 5+ is off to a great start to be an amazing machine. Have you considered going further with the Mercury 1.1 mods? Going Core X,Y with the Linear Rails? I have the Ender 5+ converted to a Mercury 1.1. It is a totally different printer. It has the EVA 3.0 toolhead, (also running a U2C to EBB36 CAN) with a Rapido HF hotend and an Orbiter 2.0 extruder. I went sensorless homing but there's nothing wrong with switches if you can stand the wires. Thank You for sharing.

Can I hook up the bigtreetech pad 7 to RS-15-12 AC-DC Single Output Enclosed power supply; Output 12VDC Single Output at 1.3A. I’d like to mount the pad 7 to my ended 5 and have all the wires in the case. Or do I need the one you have.
