Really loving your videos man. You are really active lately and its nice to get your perspective on things and see you fly stuff. You're a really good pilot and you show what a plane is capable of with a seasoned guy a the controls. Like you said in the video "everybody says its hard to land on pavement" yet with some rudder skills...which you have...not hard at all. I see so many guys saying planes are hard to takeoff/land or are squirrelly or whatever complaint they may have. I feel you give the good pilot/experienced set up skills version of things and thats important. The owner/ flyer experience is different for different skill levels of people. Someone that doesn't have much set up experience or is a lower skill pilot may give an opinion that isn't a good example of what someone else may experience with the same plane. In my opinion...and this is MY opinion...not gospel (not trying to ruffle anybody's feathers)...so in my opinion the best reviews come from guys like you that can get all the plane has to offer when its properly set up and flown. I think its important to know weather or not the plane is capable...or if it my be a lack of technique or skill that give it a bad showing. If the plane can't fly well period...thats bad...nothing can be done with a terrible plane, but if the pilot needs some work...that can be fixed.

Been flying this warbird in Realflight 9.5 and even though I land it 100% of the time, it was impossible to do without bouncing it like you did. Took lots of practice to get to land smoothly without the bounce. It’s hard to master, but I’m working on it, still only landing it without a bounce 1 out of 4 landings. The key is about 1/3 throttle with full flaps as I shallow glide down and cutting throttle just before the wheels touch. Hardest plane to land smoothly in Realflight for me so far.

the wheels are hard and great on grass, softer tires are best on pavement!
@johnsons74thsquadron744 жыл бұрын
At 13:26, I have had that same clicking noise with my Mustang and I discovered it was the strut cover on the landing gear not closing flush with the base of the wing, which creates air flow into the wheel well; that makes the cover flap up and down. I know it, because I don’t hear that noise when the gear is down.

I got a fix coming for that, stay tuned

@@RCINFORMER I appreciate that … I’ve been flying for about 5 years off of grass with various planes: Viper 70mm, v900, 1.2 Corsair ( still trying to keep it from nosing over upon landing), Avanti, Eflite A10, Air Tractor, Cirrus, Cherokee, etc. Do you think this p-51 could be my first p-51 flying off of grass?

Great video. Beautiful model. Watching someone with your skill level struggling a little landing a warbird in the wind I don't feel so bad when I struggle with it. Can you help me find parts for the Unique F4U. Any info would be appreciated.

I’m an intermediate pilot (approx 15 planes ) but I’ve never flown a P51... would you recommend this one to me as a first p51? My highest performance planes are the v900 and Eflite Viper and the Carbon Z Cessna. I also fly off of grass.
@paulrkytek65874 жыл бұрын
I have an old Lanyu models 1450mm P51, no flaps, np gyro, had it for 5 years, easy to fly just hold the tail down before touching the throttle when flying off grass, feed in a bit of right rudder and away you go. fms or eflite at this size depends on how much you want to spend. Gyros and safe not really necessary with a P51 it depends on what you are comfortable with.
@reckemroysrc37644 жыл бұрын
You have got it TRUTH. IF YOU can fly those other planes this one will be no issue. I'm really wanting it myself. The trigger finger is getting itchy on this one. 👍👍😉✌✌
