Rich....Cool....That is a really good looking F-16 from Eflite. You sure did put it through the paces and it held up very well. Good tip on the field repair of the nose gear. Looks like grass around the flying field could use a little trimming. Haha. We been getting tons of rain too this summer. 😊

I could do without the crosswind as well:) We plan to head out again for some more High alpha flight without the cross:)

Very sporty! It took a few passes but you finally got the number 5 right side up... "because I was inverted". Keep up the good work.

Rich, I set my high rate for elevator at 125%, keep CG normal and pin the elevator all the way back to the stop while giving it lots of throttle and it practically stands on it's tail all day long. This bird DOES NOT STALL! Best EDF I have ever owned by far (and the most fun). Each flight of mine is about 5 - 5.5 minutes with a 3300 70C HRB and it is at a high AOA for 4 of those minutes. The fan/motor is easy on the battery too...not a single indication of puff and I have about 30 flights on each battery so far. Eflite nailed it with this ELECTRIC JET!

What is your voltage when you are done with the flight? I fly 4000 and 5000 and I can get 4-5 mins ending around 3.7 per cell

@@RCINFORMER Hey Rich,, planning to buy this jet. I can only fly from grass which are not the best kept. You think the nose gear will hold up well ? Will it bent a lot? Can you maybe do a grass ops video on this if possible 🙏👍🙂

Yeah once you get a good amount of time practicing that it does it great and hold full up elevator and control your rate of descent/assent with throttle and it’ll settle in really nice

F-16s, in my opinion, are great in high alpha. well, every F-16 i have flown, flies really well in high alpha. they always feel locked in and dont feel like theyre gonna stall out as bad as many edf/jets do. theyre a little on the fast side due to the high wing load, but they just fly where you want them to and always just feel locked in.

with f-16s, i usually like a cg that is slightly aft. unless its real windy, then ill move it forward a little to help it track better in the wind, but that means ill be on the throttle more.... typically though, i do like it slightly aft because it makes it a little more "unstable" so it can do some pretty tight loops without having to really go crazy with elevator rates.

Over rate your elevator and on mine I added two servos in the wings and made slats/droops that are on a dial switch on a spare channel and I dial them in as I add power with full elevator and it feels like it could High alpha all day long - watching someone with your skills struggling makes it look very hard to do lol. reflexing the droops gives me extra speed too like the real one

This is me with more Alpha practice:) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPRpat6l72gipI My CG was way forward during these flights, and I was more of a alpha beginner during this video:) My Rafale does this much better & I have a bit more experience doing it now that I've had more practice.

Thanks for the great demonstration on high alpha. I'm always running off the runway. I need to practice this. Did you say you have elevator at 100% for this?
@RCINFORMER
@RCINFORMER 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, 100% with the ball links on the elevator horns moved in one notch for better throw.

Why doesn't horizon use trailing links? Those suspension struts are useless because they don't bend back which takes stress of that pin
@RCINFORMER
@RCINFORMER 4 жыл бұрын
You really cant have a trailing link on an F-16. By design, they won't retract in the well & it would look weird.

Because FMS likes having scale struts on there planes and jets, Not like Freewing where they have only one kind of struts that are used on different jets and look tacky cause there not scale
