When restoring rc the profit comes from what you can get for the leftover spares and what you had in your bit box at the start. I recently sold a boomerang I bought for £89 then spent £50 on it, but then sold it for £120 when I realised I’d still need to layout another £50-70 to return it to 100%. It would only make £140 max.

It’s probably the nicest of the df-01 besides having the hop-ups. Easy enough to fix up and working on the df-01 is easy too.

I really like your videos, thumbs up for this project! I also wanted to ask you if you ever going to make a video about Tamiyas DT-02 Chassis (because lately you did one on the DT-01). I know, it is a beginners chassis, but for example the Desert Gator or Sand Viper version are pretty well equipped. I would appreciate your honest opinion on it! I just got back into the hobby with a M05ra Swift Sport and I bought a bundle of three cars around christmas (not expecting much), two I sold right off, but the other one is a Desert Gator as good as new. I have not driven it jet, but looking forward to, even though every scratch will hurt a bit.

You have mixed the rear lights up, the TA03F car should have the decals with the EU rear lights, i.e with orange indicators, the later car has JDM STi rear lights without the orange indicators.

Like theses videos and have you ever tried to take paint of a lexan body to keep the original? If so how do you do it.
@RCKickschannel2 жыл бұрын
I don’t really try it and it’s normal a total nightmare. I think if it’s spray painted it’s easier vs the old brush paint but it can still take hours with no guarantee you don’t damage the polycarbonate body.

@@RCKickschannel Your presentation, humour and general vibe are great mate, one of the best on YT. I can see the effort you put in, in the quality of your videos, I mostly watch you, Glenn over on Tamiya Legends and Talbot(who doesn't lol) with the odd bit of Tomley thrown in (he has some decent skill in the skate park!) Being a former resident of old Blighty I much prefer the style and substance of fellow poms.....It can't be easy trying to get by on the early days money from YT until the channel gets bigger. I for one have never been brave enough to try and start my own business (maybe the truth is I'm lazy 😂) so I admire your courage and passion for the hobby. I think starting the channel when you did was good timing with all the covid garbage going on, hobby shops over here on the prison island experienced their busiest times since the GFC (when the US dollar was so weak we were getting $1.20 per $AUD). Appreciate all your hard work and effort Gavin, and I hope your channel grows exponentially.

@RCKickschannel2 жыл бұрын
Not an easy car to find and the kit motor is desirable on its own. Tamiya bearings and a ball diff upgrade and adjusted turnbuckles are all option parts that came included back in the day.
@neontetra10002 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if this was a good move or not. You sold a new in box and then probably spent nearly the same amount sourcing and paying for random parts to rebuild a runner. I suppose it comes down to how much you sold the kit for? I think I would rather pay the difference and own and build the kit but then it is fun and satisfying finding parts you need so it’s a bit of both.
@alangt47692 жыл бұрын
It only needs the body swapped- which they have, plus a few cheap easy to find DF01/ta01 parts which they also have. If you needed to chase down the decals and the evo wheels 2 years back it would definitely not be worth doing from financial side!
