Back when I raced pan cars I always left the wing clear having it painted just ruined the look of the body IMO but I wasn’t willing to sacrifice performance for looks so I had to run the wing 🤷♂️ Probably not allowed anymore I know it currently isn’t in F1 but we used to run “rollover antennas” basically a solid fiberglass antenna rod you wrapped the antenna wire around if you flipped the car onto it’s lid the flexible fiberglass antenna would bend and flip the chassis right side up (usually)

You need to find a carpet track for all these pan and f1 cars. Skidding around in a street is quite pointless with these. :)

Yes, Kyosho has gainwd a modern day rep for not keeping up with spare and upgrade parts. Late 80s early 90s here in the States the local shops would have bargain bins full of Kyosho parts because they weren't selling. Too many parts. I wonder if this was a factor in the scarce parts now. Kyosho parts were pretty spotty even with these re-res coming out.

Why does this have no suspension? Is it not constantly struggling for grip on all but the smoothest of surfaces?

The wing holes in the body needs to be made larger, about 1/2 inch in size. The rear suspension can not move independent of the body. The rear needs to be free and floating to work best.

@@RCKickschannel So what is that springy thing with the plunger between the rear pod and chassis for? The rear is supposed to flex and move to transfer weight.
@anthonymiller89793 ай бұрын
@@plethman3669 That is the Fantom CRC II it does have a single damper rear suspension and a tiny bit of front suspension. This car looks nearly identical to that one but has no suspension at all
@plethman36693 ай бұрын
@@anthonymiller8979 The flexing of the chassis is the suspension, it has to flex to work right or as designed. Look at real go-karts it's the flex of the chassis that makes them work. Next think about the air of the wing. It needs at least a .25 in gap under the wing. The flat of the wing should match or be parallel the body under it. Go look on page 21 of the manual and it details the size and shape of the holes for the rear body mount that is required. You did not follow the instructions and the rear suspension can not work correctly and will damage the body. It should be the same for the wing right? I know you will never do anything with the car besides dust it off and the wing wires and body mounts will never get a chance to damage the body because it is a shelf queen but it still should be built right. You still don't know how the car really handles because the suspension wasn't working as designed.
@anthonymiller89793 ай бұрын
@@plethman3669 Good points but I am not the builder, I was just commenting that there is a version of the car with real single damper rear suspension, and I thought that is what you were referring to with the word suspension when you mentioned the "springy thing with the plunger" which this version of the car does not have. I agree that even on this more rigid version with no damper the instructions do require a 6mm hole for the wing mounting wires.

The Kyosho ESC and Le Mans Motor support 3S LiPos. Did you run it with 2S or 3S? Just mentioning because you said that it is not fast enough with the Kosho Motor.

@@metronum This wasn't my point. Of course is a 4.5t brushless motor by far too much for this car. My point was that the 21.5t Kyosho motor needs a 3s lipo to bring the car to sufficient speed.

Hi Matt, I have my fingers crossed for an announcement in May-June with a release Sep-Oct. I don't have anything solid on announcement date over it was going to be late in the year. The reason I hope for May-June is that's when the next hobby fair in Japan was going to be before it was canceled. It makes sense that Tamiya was planning on putting out a few releases at the hobby show, so I hope thats when the Falcon announcement was planned. The only solid info I have been told is the Falcon is coming in late 2021.

Hi Gavin, I did order the Carbon parts that you recommend. The parts look nice and they were cheap. I have not yet built my Kyosho Fantom kit. I have a new body and new set of tires. I also ordered and got all of the Kyosho parts except the wing. I was not sure where it goes. Now that I see it, I think that I will not get it. I just do not like it. I was able to order all of my parts through Kyosho USA. I found the parts easy to get. Maybe that is because Kyosho is in California which is where I happen to live. The interesting thing is that I had a hard to buying the car. I could not get it here in California. Kyosho USA did not have it but they had the parts. Go figure. Thoughts?

Yep the UK doesn't demand that much market attention from the US companies as like you say, it's just super small. You can see it in UK released dates being so long after US releases.
