Nice detailed presentation of this LCG chassis mod. Been considering it for mine, though I'm not sure it's appropriate for my needs. I think my use warrants ground clearance over stability and all out speed, but it's definitely nice to see the whole process to swap out. Can't wait to see the drive testing with the LCG. Thanks Nolan.
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
No problem man! 😉 I didn’t really find the belly clearance helping very much. I feel like with the 2wd it gets stuck pretty quick regardless of the chassis. I guess I am comparing it to the 4x4 models which isn’t really a fair comparison.
@mattfoster16843 жыл бұрын
@@RCKnockout Yeah, beyond playing with gearing a bit, my next mods are likely to be that hack I shared with you to shorten the full extension of the shocks (little piece of fuel line on the piston, inside the shock so it can't extend fully), and heavier oil in the shocks as a method to quell that "body roll", which is quite bad and only gets worse as it goes faster.
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
@@mattfoster1684 nice man! It should perform a lot better then! I thought about doing that myself. I didn’t realize the fuel line goes on the inside of the shock though? I thought it was just supposed to rest on the shock perch and sit around the shock shaft?
@mattfoster16843 жыл бұрын
@@RCKnockout Yeah, he actually puts a small piece on the shaft but inside the bore of the shock with the oil, so it requires complete disassembly of each shock, which is a wee bit arduous. Basically acts as a stopper for the piston so it can't fully extend. Net effect is likely somewhat similar to the LCG shock modifications, lowers the ride height overall.

You didn’t use the shock springs, or mention them. Are they different from what comes on the Slash, or do they have the same spring rating?
@RCKnockout3 жыл бұрын
That’s true I didn’t…there was nothing in the directions about the shock springs if I remember correctly…it just included them in the package…I assume they’re a different spring rate

Hey do you use this to race or do you have a separate car for racing? I mean even if you race at all

I use a different car for racing but I could potentially use this one…..it’s set up pretty well at this point

@@RCKnockout I noticed that the high center chassis keeps flipping my slash and I love to do the 180 turn in reverse but I don't like it flipping upside down. And i do want to race with it and have speed while turning.

My slash has the on board audio, do you see a spot for the on board audio box thing mount? Is that thing on the very front of the chasis for oba or telemetry? I am getting my new lcg chasis soon but I’m wondering if I can use the oba or not, I usually don’t but I like to have it.

FYI: with the red & black wires that are a little short from the motor to the esc (about 19 mins in) all I did was drilled a new hole in the bracket below the one that is there & it gives the wires a little more room.
