Just my perspective, Version 2 should be a carbon resin mold adds more stiffness to the holes you have the metal rod beams could bend the whole box or mash itself like axle damage.

When you run 2 ESCs, you have to pull or cut the red wire from one of the ESC's wire to the receiver or as you seen, something will blow. I had the same thing happen to me. But my experience was 2 ESCs on a Clod Buster and 2 Modified pulling motors. I ended up cooking the ESCs and the receiver. The guy at my LHS told me what I did wrong when I took it to him. We ordered the same ESCs and receiver, took one of red wires out and I ran it for 2 years before selling.
@jaredc81614 жыл бұрын
That is true if they have internal BECs. These ESCs do not.
@Eden_M4 жыл бұрын
I got two 400A OPTO, no BEC. This type of ESC's should be hooked up to a reciever in parallel , otherwise they won't power up together.

Simon, i saw that the surfboard was sinking under your weight, maybe add more floats so that the board is completely floating. (This will dramatically increase the speed of the board as there will be much less water resistance and drag. I hope you see this comment and improve on this aspect of the project. (BTW you are my favourite youtuber)

Surfboards do weird things beyond surf speeds. If you get going, you'll be able to stand on the nose of the board with the nose about a half meter above the water. The rocker of the tail sucks the rear down...plus the water jets too. Awesome project!

FYI the part you yeeted away from the coupler is called the spider, its job is to account for some axial misalignment to help dampen vibrations, so you probably could have kept it.

Hey Simon! I bought a pair of 8S 200A "marine" ESCs from FLIER for a wooden speedboat I made. At one point the boat capsized during a fast turn. It did not sink but floated on it's back during 2 minutes. I retrieved the boat and dried everything out immediately. The ESCs were not floaded but got some water projections om them. This season when I tried to run the boat again, Both ESCs were dead... I opened them and I saw why :-O The waterproofing job is absolutely horrible and definitely useless. My advice for you: when you'll receive your ESCs, open them, check carefully and finish the waterproofing yourself! You'll have saved a few bucks ;-)
