This a great step in the right direction, not too much longer and we'll be flying FPV's with zero latency at 1080p. Drones are getting incredibly better so much faster than I expected.

Great look at the system! Thanks for the link to my videos too BTW. I love how you say "bonafidepirate" lol I'm really looking forward to seeing this progress, it's already way ahead of anything I expected to see, and will only improve from here. :)

hey, you're welcome. sorry bout my pronouncing :) I think the next thing I will do is get some patch antennas... any recommendations?
@bonafidepirate7 жыл бұрын
The patch antenna I'm using is from L-com. By default their center frequency is 1160MHz if I remember right. You can buy that way and trim the active element inside yourself, or buy one already modified from Ready Made R/C. DPCAV also makes a new element to replace the one inside to tune it for 1280MHz. Mine is one I bought and trimmed down. Here's the antenna: goo.gl/MWhGmf, and how to modify it: goo.gl/4CFhBx or get the DPCAV element and change it: goo.gl/xKxvEP Here's one already tuned: goo.gl/NjXYXZ I also saw this 14db patch antenna at Banggood, but I have no idea how good it is, there's a link down in the reviews for some tests a guy did with it. He seemed to think it was OK for the price, but maybe not perfect. It could be worth trying out though, maybe... goo.gl/JECjnd Then there's the cheap PCB yagi antenna from WA5VJB that I'm using along with my patch antenna. goo.gl/Ma2kBd I think Davide actually ordered some of these to include with the systems that ship out, they're not much more expensive than a dipole... lol ($6 US) You will need a short coax pigtail to solder on though.
@Politicallyhomeless9577 жыл бұрын
How much in US dollars? Thanks
@bonafidepirate7 жыл бұрын
Check the order page here: fpv.blue/order/ They just started accepting pre-orders today in fact. ;) The price is in Euro there, but you can check the conversion rate quickly online. As of right now (I'm sure the rate fluctuates up and down though) it's $647.84 USD for the complete system with one receiver, or $705.67 USD with two receiver modules to enable diversity.

Great review, will be watching out for this product. Its great the way this hobby is progressing forward with technology with the help from companies like FPVBlue

Very good review, as always. I would also like to see a spec sheet with what features/options are available, at the moment it's a matter of picking up bits and pieces from the reviewers and RCgroups. The same questions are being repeated on RCgroups.

thanks Cedric. I liked how I could also speak with the developer. It's important to see that their are always People behind such products and Davide is a really cool guy, has a lot of RF knowledge - so that made me pretty confident about his product as well.

RCSchim I should maybe consider to pass my HAM licence, normally we should all get one since we are flying 433Mhz stuff lol I will try to investigate how i can get it here in Thailand...

Nice video and as a connex pilot I really like the long range feature from fpv.blue. Moreover, I am in particular interested in a detailed latency measurement of the DJI goggles, as there are no specs from DJI with HDMI input. Would be nice to see this from you soon...

You're right, fun to watch (except for Davide, DJI was a quite big competition) Never used the system much unfortunately, since the TX was quite heavy and I mostly fly 5" drones (or even smaller ones now).

I think Stew will do a more indepth review - and he stated that this is just a quick look. I can image that he has a lot of work - and wanted to at least have something out. that's the issue - if this here is work, it stops being fun sometimes :) if you're passionate and it's just a hobby - it's fun most of the times...

All the options in this receiver really do remind me of DVB-T... I wonder if you could receive it with a regular receiver...
@Rcschim7 жыл бұрын
I dont think you can receive it with anything other than FPV blue since their protocol is proprietary and highly tuned/optimized
@coppercopter9477 жыл бұрын
I like that they are doing progress, but am skeptical about digital given the way noisy environments are handled. Maybe this is why they are on a low frequency?
@Rcschim7 жыл бұрын
yep, 2.4 would be nice - but we will have to see how the noise on this band effects such a system. seems like DJI did a great job in implementing a really good error handling / retransmission system with their occusync - to be able to use this crowded band. the downside they accepted was latency it seems (which is no issue on a gimbal stabilized copter)...

Any idea if/when the ET Vector problems will be solved -2nd batch? All my LR planes have Vectors and I'd rather stay with the Vector if the Blue isn't compatible I'll have to pass for now.

whether the information written on the monitor can be lost all the OSD so that this unit can be used as a wireless camera shooting, 1080?
@Rcschim7 жыл бұрын
yes, I think you can disable the OSD. but the video quality is not the main feature here - so taking it for recording only is not a good idea. I would use a lightweight onboard cam and record there. take for example a Runcam SPLIT or just any action cam - and you get really good quality.

Hello my fellow humans. I want a downlink that takes hdmi vhd vdeo Over the air and into some goggles. I am making a wireless monitor for pc, mounted on the head. Can ypu please point me to a suitable solution? No latency, and full house range. Small enough receiver to have on the head.

it pixellates, get's wrong colors but recovers nicely. check bonafidepirate's 14km flight- at the edge of reception you see how it behaves. in my next vid you will see it as well. you get rssi values hints before it breaks up...

550 Euro? And still a prototype? Neeehh.. I will wait till January, and wont pay more than 400 Euro Max. For sure something more affordable will come in 2018. The best price would be smthing around 300 to max 350 USD. For copters we need a reliable 5.8 ghz, and 4 to 5 km is more than enough. However O hope fpv.blue offers more options, gets successfull and lower the price.
