Hey stu doesn't 1.3 require a ham license?
@lukasmakessomething73227 жыл бұрын
Henry Read-Spinks does that apply in Australia?
@sputniksam7 жыл бұрын
Hi Henry Each region has its own regulations. In the USA, I believe, holding a Technician Class Amateur license will allow you to use 1.2GHz -1.3GHz but the equipment will need to conform to FCC directives to allow it to be sold on the domestic market. Here in the UK a Foundation level amateur radio license will again permit you to use those frequencies on a secondary user basis. HOWEVER, in the UK there is no provision that permits the use of amateur radio on any airborne platform, full size or model. The only options that legally exist in the UK are those covered by the ISM and SRD specifications (license exempt) in segments of the 433MHz, 459MHz, 800MHz, 2400MHz, and 5800MHz, allocations. I've held a full amateur radio license for over thirty years and these restrictions are a source of much frustration when it comes to the applications to SUAV's and FPV.

This would be great for a long range wing right?
@tomrosch86907 жыл бұрын
Probably, but digital has one disatvantage, which might make ist less relaiable in Long Range flights. You of cours will get great Video and no breakup, but the dropouts (if they occure) are much more severe. You get a black Screen or a freez frame, with angalog Video you get breakup but can still see some pieces. And I also think, that you get better range with a analog 1.3 GHz setup with good antennas. But the experience while flying would definitely be better, but you are missing the osd.

If you are going to demo systems like this you might want to go in to the legalities of it in Australia. Its not C-Ticked at all (its still in development) and as far as I can tell uses frequencies that aren't legal to use here.

looks amazing! but €549 is a little steep ill stick with my $15 banggood vtx for a while i guess ;) also i'm assuming flight video incoming?
@ken-kamm7 жыл бұрын
Not sure how you could say the Connex stuff is bigger. The Connex racing antenna is about the same size as our analog antennas. These 1.3ghz antennas are MUCH bigger. You need to compare the two side by side. Also this VTx is what, 10-15 grams heavier than ProSight? I was hoping Fpv blue could be used on a mini quad but that’s not looking too promising.
@marionavarro82297 жыл бұрын
kenkamm This is intended for planes at first.

The way to go would simplify using the image quality of our crappy but fast analogs to try to cut that latency and keep the digital link range and steadiness

I know that there is digital technology that is the same size and weight as the analog and with no latency but it is tied up with the military. However, once they move on to something new and better, eventually it will trickle out to the civilian market.
@TheRattleSnake31457 жыл бұрын
