T-Motor AM600 Combo with AM116 ESC Upgrade on Extreme Flight 60" Laser v2

That motor ESC and prop combo Is a perfect match for those 60 size airplanes. It worked really well. I liked it.

How many degrees of timing does the AM600 525kv take.

Good video. Loctite wise, blue doesn't have much resistance if it breaks loose where red 262 has better holding strength and more resistance to turning if it does come loose (does NOT require heat to loosen if you need to take it apart). Best of both worlds & is very popular with the rc helicopter community for the above mentioned reasons.

I use blue on all my planes and helicopters. I use green for certain bearings on helis. Red is over the top IMHO. Just doesn't need to be that stubborn. Perhaps it would make sense on an IC model, but electrics don't vibrate nearly as much. The only time I've ever had a motor come loose is when I didn't use loctite at all. Blue is fine.

John, nice review. How does the AM600 compare to the xprw22? Is there enough difference to warrant an upgrade or do they perform equally?

If u dont do hard 3d its not worth the upgrade even tho the 22 is already plenty for hard 3d

Not to mention the packaging, the prop comes in a box like it’s a Swiss watch and when you take out it feels like your holding a feather a bit unearthly to the point I was wondering if it would break! Your spot on about the smoothness, I can use the trim and get the prop to rotate at 10 rpm (can do that with my XPRW 40cc). I think it’s down to the esc using Dshot firmware which is the same for racing quads which is why they can be tuned so finely. Also the pain of trying to match the motor / prop / esc is taken care of. I’m using the AM600 in my 60” edge and just fitted the AM670 in my 73” laser which may prove a tad underpowered (haven’t flown it yet) but at 2300 watt I suspect it will fly ok but not amazing. Only thing I would like to see is a Tmotor AM700 for 70 to 80” 3d planes and maybe 12s (although 6s is more convenient). Good video mate.

Thanks. And I think you'll see an AM700. I put an AM670 in my 70" Slick and have the same impression. It's good enough to fly, but it's not a powerhouse.

Hey, thanks for showing the replacement. Couple of questions. Do you have the 525 or 555kv motor? Do you know if it will it fit straight on to the EF V2 Laser without having to do any mods? I'm pretty sure your Laser is v3. Thanks!

I have the 525Kv, and it was a direct bolt-on. I'm not sure about the V2. The specs with measurements are listed at the bottom of this page: extremeflightrc.com/T-Motor-AM600AM116-COMBO_p_7897.html

Usually 3300 or 4000mah. It depends a little on how the plane flies.

Hello John, I hope you are doing well. i have the same motor AM600 together with AM116 the combo basically. however when i try to run this at full throttle, it cut the power around 80% which always cause the aircraft to crush. any idea why and how i can correct this? thanks

Have you measured current draw? I would. I'd also check the voltage under load. Is this a fresh battery? For further discussion, you should join discord. Link is in description of every video I post.

Easy to do. I'm kinda glad they're using suggested wingspan in the motor designator though. Helps me keep things straight. AM670=67" AM600=60". Clever.
