RD is a legend, his compositions are unparalleled, his sound management was such that even today after 50 years his compositions are still fresh.. Well compiled narration here about Pancham Da.. There are many songs of RD which can be quoted here as outstanding.. Leker hum diwana dil, o meri soni and many more..❤

@@shoumomukherjee5662 Copied is not right word, that were inspiration combined with own RD signature contained in his compositions, at the forced advice from producers/ directors of film which Pancham Da disliked even most of composers were doing that but Pancham Da never copied it 💯% rather he took a clue and arranged those in his own distinct style of his compositions better than originals, in very few cases...

7:37 OK here is a correction. Jazz and Western classical music was brought to Bollywood by Salil Chowdhury an unacknowledged genius if ever there was one. In fact such was his frustration that ist SD Burman held him back when once he wanted to quit everything and move back to Kolkota.Later in Life he switched to Malayalam films ironically the only place where he is still held in high regards to this day.... But what he has left behind in Hindi Cinema when they gave him a chance remain classics to this day.....

Salil chowdhury was the only music director in Bollywood who could read Western notation and was a master of orchestration. Salilda was one of a kind, it's sad that he never got recognition in Hindi film world. Truly a genius no one could fill his shoes even in Bengal.

I am a great admirer of Salil Chowdhury and he happened to be a close friend of my uncle, who was also a noted actor of 50, 60 & 70's. Salil Sir had certain limitations from which he could not come out after a stage, otherwise how the music world could ignore such a genius!

He was a legend. But, seriously, I doont want any remixes. If I want to listen to an RD Burman composition, I will listen to the original one as that also had the voice of the legendary singers. If people are so talented, let them come up with their own creation. Why remix?

Wonderful video Kunal. Genius showed all his class in his career and I guarantee every music director has been taking something of his music and without his music Hindi music is incomplete.

At the mid of 2024, i am sorry to say, only 2 to 3% music lovers of the world understand how Panchamda made his experiments. They only listen to songs, not the catch of embedded music within them. Such powerful was his background score that musicians love to play them on stage! The Karishma of Dada was bountiful, His Music will rule generation after generation for decades to come! 🙏

Good that there was no internet in those days. Whole of India would have still enjoyed his music but at least they would have known that most of the tunes were unabashedly copied from Western songs without giving any credit to the original composers. But kudos to him for the music mixing on those which made it better than the original. And full credit to him for many of his original compositions that have no comparison.

RD Burman brought western music fused with Indian non-classical music. His music was new, innovative, captivating. Not only jazz there as bongo. Remember the title music of Teesri Manzil and its songs. Yaadon ki Barat, Burning Train theme music, Shaan title music etc. His new music broke the too sentimentalism of Indian claasical music. It has been a great era! His music was positive, enlivening, entertaining, thrilling. It makes you happy. Today's music and songs are mostly a horror! The most decadent one! Apart sex, appeal to senses, body worship, there is nothing. Pathaan film an example. RD Burman has left a huge void. And it will not be filled with our corrupt society where values have eroded.

I am a die hard RDB lover. It were also The Three Wise Men who has a fantastic contribution in making and building the Brand Pancham which is not usually mentioned by one composer fans. Further more on a social platform glorifying RDB telling that there wouldn’t have been Anu Mailks and Himesh R if RDB wasn’t there its a idolatry statement. We all know RDB has been very heavily influenced by foreign composers and musicians and yes a lot many works are inspired but its ok My point is that straight way naming Anu and Himesh was much shallow part of the episode. We all know the original Mehebuba song too. There should be hundreds of photos of international composers here too😃 Not taking any other composers name is a better way of glorifying.

This guy is uploading pics of Anu Malik and Himesh Reshamia. Why has he not uploaded pics of more than 57 composers and singers photos from where RDB was ‘INSPIRED’ I am a very die hard lover of RDB. All the first line musicians have had lunches and dinners at our place including Manohari Da , Buji Lord sir, Homi Bhai, Kancha bhai and many more. But I am realistic lover of RDB not a blind disciple ( AB) The list of uploading for this gentleman is much longer. Requesting him if he has uploaded photos of AM and HR he should upload the photos of more than 57 such personalities round the globe.

With all due respect to RDB the ‘Thumb nail’ as ‘RDB The man who brought Jazz to India’ is completely ignorant. There are 100s and 100s songs that are composed in jazz flavour before that by Hindi music directors and as I am from Tamil Nadu I know 100s of songs composed by the great composer M S Viswanathan in jazz genre. So don’t give misleading informations while RDB is well respected.

I used to look up to all the yesteryear composers because of the less technological advancements during that time and delivered the best music. But the internet happened and I came to know that most of their music were straight up copy or little bit of changes from other countries musicians which the normal people had no excess to at that time, it is still done in modern day music scene in India most notably known or accused is Pritam. All the expectations or the respect I had for them is lost now tbh, the only music composer I kinda look upto is AR Rahman.

"Most of their" is a generic statement. Give me.data that infers to the above. Yes some expositions were inspirations or copied but only a few. Most of them were original. Now coming to Rehman ... His music is only mechanical without melody and that's the case with most of his compositions. Here when I say most, I can give Supporting data. His melodious ones are a handful only. Processed sound se and international awards se koi great nahi hota hai. Rehman is just a fine composer with vast musical knowledge. Nothing great about him. Personal opinion but i have my strong and valid reasons.

Apart from 2-3 songs, none of them were direct lift. A line or 2 was used mostly to get the start of the tune and remaining would be original, that was common with any music composers in that era. Also, many times, producers, directors and actors used to force music directors to make a song on a lesser known yet good tune from abroad. He composed over 2000 songs, and only 5% songs were inspired (first 2 lines). 😊 One more thing, there was a time when he used to compose and record 100-120 songs a year (not even counted background scores), I bet none of the Hollywood music composers would ever dare to do that. RD was special. RD is unique. 😊

Beside scholar music creators for hindi films like basant desai, madanmohan, usha khanna, naushad, shankar jaikishen, lakshmikant-pyralel, hemant kumar, sachindeb barman, salil choudhury, sardar malik, s mohindar, ramlal, ram ganguly, vinod, anil biswas how can rahul deb barman be called " king of bollywood music"? Rahuldeb barman let himself swept away by his inherent disposition to blindly copy western cheap music. Shankar jaikishen extensively used zazz in many of their immortal compositions. It is adviseable to listen hindi film music from 1940 to 1965 to differentiate between everlasting creations of above-mentioned maestros and cheap compositions of rahuldeb barman. Mere emotional and utterly impractical appreciation of rahuldeb barman has nothing to do with the golden era of hindi film music compositions. Compositions by rahuldeb were totally devoid of soul filled with disgusting noises.
