I've had a 98 for a year and a half and I've been fixing it up, and now I have an interest to make a wheeling/daily rig. I just found your channel and I'm glad I did

Just got a nice 2000 RD1 with 93k miles. Bone stock EX with manual transmission. Only cost me $2,000. New stuff is nice but not $35,000+ nice. I’d rather buy 15 beaters and enjoy them.

@kouxiong5017 Жыл бұрын
@@hondaresource if you ever rebuild it, just do the 6th gear also. That's what I'll be doing to mine
Love the crv content. Thanks for helping out this aging community 😂. Of all the rd1 you dealt with, have you had any luck on slipping auto transmissions? Love to see a video on that as it seems a common problem
@hondaresource11 ай бұрын
Nope, either rebuild or replace
@sumott49710 ай бұрын
@@hondaresource I did it, and found that the rebuild kit comes with updated parts. There was a common problem with the RD1 Auto transmission that almost failed like clockwork at around 200k+ Miles. Mine went out, rebuilt it, just overall a better offroad experience with a rebuilt transmission. Plus these cars used with 200k miles on them are now going for $5k. Glad I bought mine when I did.

Man I forget the actual but I asked in another channel and I think I was told clutches in the diff maybe. Either way I drained mine and filled it back with Honda dual pump and then again a month later and it’s silent now. That said I’m not giving mechanic advice and anyone feel free to correct the terms used but I gave this a shot and it worked.

No obligation just ballpark ::: how much should it cost just to replace timing belt only & how much would it cost to do entire timing belt job to include water pump along with seals? My 1999 I just brought is basically 24 years old with 193k and is still running on factory installed belt. Omg ! Thank you in advance
