Imagine being one of those outlaws. Probably the fastest shooting thing you've seen is maybe a Maxim gun, probably just your buddy Jimmy "Six-Shot" fanning his revolver, and all of the sudden you round a corner and watch Jimmy get mowed down before he can even lift his gun by a disheveled farmer with some weird rifle that fires a dozen shots without a bolt needing to be worked, a hammer needing to be pulled, or a lever to be cranked.

The Maxim was in use since 1884, the M1895 Colt-Browning machine gun (the Potato Digger as it was nicknamed) was a thing four years before the start of the game, there's the Agar _from 1861_ which was a hand-cranked single barrel machine gun predating the Gatling gun by a year, there's the Ripley Machine Gun which was patented in 1861, there's also the Gardner gun was made in 1874, crank operated yes but still a machine gun, then there's the Bira gun which was fed from a PAN MAGAZINE like a Lewis Gun and was manufactured from 1896 to 1897, and last but not least there's the Salvator-Dormus M1893 which is an HMG from Austria-Hungary. Sure there was no automatic rifles but there were plenty of machine guns around the time and before Red Dead Redemption 2 is set that were either adopted and in service around that time or were prototyped. Also there's the Roper repeating shotgun (also known as the Roper revolver shotgun) was made in 1861 (not really relevant but just wanted to mention it, there was also a rifle variant of it. Also it's an _open-bolt firearm_ from 1861 using black powder cartridges.), the same year as the Ripley Machine Gun. Oh and the Confederates had a revolver CANNON (which I guess means the Confederates technically had a proto-autocannon in the Year of Our Lord 1861 to the Year of Our Lord 1865 but only the one) so I guess that's a thing too, also not really that relevant but man is it strange to learn about.

You have to install Lenny Mod Loader (put the lml & its files in the game folder). Then download STG-44 mod, put the files from the zip into the lml folder. Run the game in 'Vulkan' Settings and you need to use the Carbine Repeater to have the STG-44.
