This video's existence is a prime example of everything working out absolutely perfectly for virtually no reason.
Sunday morning we decided to take a shot in the dark and look for RDS' yard in Tonopah to see what trucks they (still) have. Having absolutely no idea where they are other than probably in Tonopah or Buckeye, we drove around for hours trying to frame the background of the lone picture on their website. We eventually stumbled upon the yard over a mile down a dirt road, with a 320 Mammoth + this Gomez in the front line, an older Heil being worked on and their 310 Octo clearly retired.
Somehow Alan convinced me to drive down this single lane dirt road at like 4:45am the next morning, and we arrived just at the perfect time to see this truck leaving at the exact moment we pulled up. Somehow we got lucky enough to have this be the only truck leaving that day, and a driver who was chill enough with us following and filming after ambushing him at 455am down a dirt road.
RDS competes against Republic (only saw maybe two or three of their dumpsters) and Belmont for front-load service, and offers those unique 1/2-yard boxes to compete with Belmont's 90s offering. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised to see how generous of a market share RDS has been able to claim.
