After a car crash or a car accident, and after your vehicle gets fixed, is it worth what it was worth before the accident? It is not.
When it comes to trade in or private sale, no one is going to pay what the car was worth before the accident even if it is fixed correctly.
These days everyone checks the Car Fax report and will see that your vehicle was in a serious accident. The difference between your car as it was before the accident and your car as it is after it emerges from the body shop is called Residual Diminished Value (also known as RDV).
But the claims adjuster assigned to your case will tell you that RDV isn't a thing. But it is a thing. Don't take legal advice from the other side.
