I have heard of that theory about Spongebob and The Strangle, and what helps with the theory is that after Spongebob corrects the Strangler and was thanked, he said "No problem Stranger (gasp) I mean Bodyguard."

I know how to put it into words where others couldn’t. The Strangler being THE STRANGLER and doing a far worse crime and his wants to do it on Spongebob are exactly why you laugh when he’s tortured, it’s almost like karma. A robber who isn’t even robbing Spongebob? You feel bad for him. He didn’t deserve this.

Recast Idea: Mimic Madness VS. Not Normal both episodes have SpongeBob be something else, people like it, SpongeBob overdoes it, people stop liking it, SpongeBob (and Friends) tries to stop doing it, SpongeBob is stuck doing it, he gets help then he stop doing it, and SpongeBob's Friend(s) start doing what SpongeBob did. The main different is in one SpongeBob get's Normal in the other SpongeBob get's Weirder IT"S A PARADOX!

And it was one of the last times I watch anything SpongeBob related until recently, when I got back into the show. So I agree with what Chugga said. It sort of was a series finale in a way for me in my early childhood.
