The prison for Earth Benders was the most stupid thing ever. The prison in the show was a metal boat, but they were surrounded by Earth in the movie! That's like trapping someone in a room full of fully loaded weapons just hanging on the wall! COME ON!

You know what the damning thing about this movie is? The cast act more like the characters in the gag reel than they do in the actual movie. This overly exposited, poorly developed movie had better acting in the gag reel than the actual movie.

At the time the adaptation of the show came out, I was not a fan of the show yet and had no experience when it came to the atrocity that this movie is (both as a stand-alone and as an adaptation). I didn't become a fan of the show until I was in high school (I believe it was between 2011-2013 that I got into the show cause I definitely remember watching it first and then getting into Korra during the time when the third season for Korra came out in 2013 and then watched the last season in 2014, which was about 7 months before I graduated high school in 2015). I'm so glad that I didn't have to experience that movie back then cause I would have been beyond pissed as a big fan of the show. The animated show is such a masterpiece and I absolutely love everything about such as the story, characters, themes, action, music, fight choreography, etc. Toph is my favorite character in the show with Zuko, Katara, and Iroh being some of my other favorites. If I had to pick which kind of bending I'd want to do, it'd be earthbending. It's one of my favorite animated shows period and the movie can go screw itself into obscurity. In regards to the Netflix live-action adaption of the show into a series, I'm very skeptical in regards to this given my distain towards the recent trend of turning everything that was originally animated into a live-action version (especially the Disney live-action remakes). Given that the original creators of the show will actually be involved with the Netflix show, I do feel somewhat relived by that because that means name pronunciations, racial casting, etc., won't be screwed up cause they know their own work of course. However, I felt that the original show was so perfect as an animated show and unless the live action show has the quality of something like Game of Thrones or the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I just don't want it to feel super cheesy in live action. When I saw the Lion King remake, I pretty much understood how fans of ATLA must have felt at the time when they saw the movie and how much they butchered from the show. The Lion King remake was pretty much the exact same thing when it came to making unnecessary changes for no reasons, illogical storyline changes, awful acting, half-assed effort, taking away crucial and important elements that made the original movie so wonderful, etc. The original Lion King is my favorite film of all time and one of the best animated movies out there and the remake being one of the worst remakes of all time.

I missed the past few weeks of this podcast, saw this get uploaded, and thought to myself "Gosh darn, now I have to catch up." I enjoy this show a ton. Glad it's sticking around! Maybe this is a silly idea, but would you ever consider comparing two bad remake movies on different franchises? Like of course the show beats out the movie in this case by a million, but what about something like The Last Airbender 2010 vs. another lackluster adaptation, like that horrible DBZ live action movie or that garbage Lightning Thief movie? (Though dunno if you'd do book or anime adaptations.) Just to give the bad movies more of a chance, I think comparing them to other bad movies could lead to interesting discussions.

let's say the movie was good and they made 2 more... I want to talk about Aang having 3 more years to prepare to the final battle during the comet. Aang already mastered air and water, and we know that he has 3 whole years before the comet to master earth and fire, so there is no tension here, if you can cross the whole world in few months and you have 3 years to learn 2 elements then you will be prepared like a year before the comet.
