RE always stick to there simplicity and creating marvels without using complex electronics. It is not everyone's cup of a tea to enjoy RE to the core. RE did hell of a job and Shumi's review stands quite upto the mark. There are companies like Apple who can create damn good products. But they fail to address the practicality like service. But the core principles of RE are remarkable and write a different story in this era. They exhibit what can be done without hi-fi stuff. This guy (Shumi) really enjoys old school RE to EVs. Fingers crossed to see PowerDrift reviewing RE combustion engine against RE retro styled EV.

@@shu_mar they said it happened bcz of wrong threading, while removing The saree guard and holder during delivery.

But I remember that when we tried to remove those on our long term test bike, the process was made more complex by the size of the capped bolt vs the threaded length of the bolt. Removing the guard needed washers to be added to consume the extra thread. This isn’t a quality issue - it’s an attention to detail problem at the dealer.

These cafe racers were basically people stripping down unnecessary parts and making cheap mods to make it aerodynamic and basically race from cafe to cafe. Last to reach would pay the bill. So….

Big bore kit, re profiled cam, a remap and upgraded calipers, discs and pads hopefully around 75 bhp and see what it can do against the premium European and Japanese middleweight reteos, hell even the R7 !

Personally most of the upgraded parts are already available as aftermarket parts and could be easily adapted or copied in OE production

The top speed of 162kmph was clocked on GPS and is also limited by the Kari main straight length and the short gearing of the race bike. I'm sure lighter riders will be seeing even more top speeds.

I own both 2015 535 GT and the new 650 and I can tell you that the new one has quality issues. The old GT is a true continental bike with European quality standards.

Remove speedo...remove lock... Remove self starter...go for that MotoGP type starting method. Where they use a mini engine to start the bike....remove unnecessary electronic wiring... remove metal mudguard on front, remove metal battery covers and replace with fiber ones...and last but not least... replace the tank with a lighter metal one...and got shave off another 20-30kgs or more....now that would take this into whole other territory...i think it would even reach 200.

Nice info guru. Would like you to reveal the attributes of a good bike to possess if one's priority is riding comfort, ease of maintenance and value for money . Have been observing the riders postures and I feel Royal Enfield classic offers the best riding posture unlike the forward seating posture with rear set footpegs which would be uncomfortable beyond 30 kms . The higher pillion seat and higher rear footpegs also also makes such bikes very uncomfortable. It defies logic to possess bikes which are track focused whereas majority Indians use for daily commuting . Can't the manufacturers provide flatter seats for average Indian physiques like the Rajdoots,Yezdis of pre 1990 Era! which could be used by everyone.

The 650 twins are not meant to be sporty motorcycles, where as the TVS’ are. What RE *MIGHT* do is offer body parts as optional accessories if they see fit.

You're clearly missing the point of a cost controlled race formula, Simanta… Engine and chassis development/improvement can be the most expensive to modify or replace parts so riders are restricted to retaining stock specs, or are only allowed prescribed or permitted changes/replacements to prevent undue advantage to wealthier teams/riders. Every bike on the track is essentially the same basic bike, and has had the same levels of expense used to prepare and race it. The idea is to at least start with a level playing field, making rider skills, and setting up skills, the defining factor for winning… not how much money can be thrown at a project. This gives the privateer or small independent shop supported competitor/team a chance against those fielded by big main dealers or wealthy sponsoring businesses. Squeezing the maximum performance out of a limited, controlled, package takes skill rather than cash.
