i find that the swing does help me in the beginning of the workout because it allows me to get momentum where other it would be more difficult to engage my lats and not engage with my arms...I have been training for 5 years and still are working to improve my technique and believe there are slight differences on how people train there back.. the most improtant part of the excersize is working the muscle to more than its used to, so i guess whatever works for you is the way to do it.

The lat pull down is so named because the movement works the latissimus dorsi, not because the direction of the move is lateral or sideways.

that is exacly what i m saying, you have to make a small movement. this related to the effect of the moment in physics. ( moment in Y is 0Mn when your arms are extented so you need a boost to creat an angle to make moment in Y )

Remember positive +negative movement = max results and not negative only = max results

the difference is that in this version of lat pulldown the Longissimus thoracis takes the work load, a normal lat workout only flexes the latissimus dorsi among other muscles...

you should analyse his first rep. I understant that he's going all the way up with the weight. But how do you explane the fact that he leans back when he pulls? To creat a vertical moment.

Thats because they don't usually lift heavy weights. But you have to understand that there is many ways to built muscle. That is why bodybuilders have different body's shape. Check out the end of my video called " super back "

No no no is all about physiques. Learn about the "moment of the force." It like doing arm curls, the more your arms are extended, the less power you have. So when bringing the weights up you lock, so you need to swing to bring the weight at an angle were you can push better.

there's a reason why pro bodybuilders "swing" (sway) when they do that, its because they are lifting MASSIVE weights, and because of the momentum, they can't help it. Now for regular joes doing regular weights, there's no reason to sway. Just because pros do it doesn't mean you should do what they do. Just go for stable posture and do it nice and slow (and slow i mean CONCENTRATED)

You see my friend there is something that majority of people don't understand is that weight lifting does not build muscle. When you work out, you break the muscle tissue. You need FOOD to rebuild muscle. People do understand that. Check out bodybuilders nutrition programs. And it not all about lifting heavy weights, but you also need good form and the right amount of rest.

But when you go down slowly ( controlled way ), you're muscles is working, so it is harder to go back up since you're muscle is already tired, right? What does that mean? IT MEANS THAT WHEN YOU CONSCIDER THE NEGATIF, IT ALOWS YOU TO WORK MORE, SO MORE DOMAGE TO THE MUSCLE TISSUE that will be reconstruct by protein.

I'd say the swinging is almost necessary when doing really big weights with big muscle groups. Other than that, it's useless and increases the chance of injury.

Lets say for example you're doing bench press. When you go down quick, you're not working, so you feel strong to go back up. right?

@dubberdoodee this was his 2nd exercise man, if you want big muscles you must go heavier and swing a bit, swining prevent the arms from engaging as much as if you wouldnt swing and the back take a bigger load when you squeeze, form isnt everything

counter balancing 300lbs is not easy, when you're in the start position those thigh pads are at the very top of your thighs which puts the starting position of the bar right above your head... if you then proceeded to pull down without moving an inch... your would hit yourself in the head. the small swinging motion allows him to get the bar in front of his head so he can then pull it down. when you're lifting beginner weight then your knees are under the pads so of course you shouldn't move

First, everything that you see in any of my videos does not come from me but top pros. And it is no logical for an armature to criticize or to surpass a professional cause they have real results. Negative does make more damage to the muscular tissue, but that does not mean that you should ignore the positive . To have maximum results, the hole movement has to be consider, not just a part.

Of cores you don't have to sway if you re lifting light weights. I made those videos for people who likes workout hardcore and be massive. If you want to play basketball for fun, you don't have to do it like pros. But if you want to be best, I m sure you'll look at Michael Jordan tape.

Exactly, you are not supposed to sit completely upright doing lat pulldowns. You have to arch your back and stick out your chest to contract the back, so you got to LEAN back a bit, not swing, but lean. Yes ronnie goes fast on his reps but he is in no way, shape, or form doing these wrong. People need to learn how to stop worrying about perfect form. Use decent form and push heavy weight, it's what makes you grow. Overload.

if you really know bodybuilding you would understand that hambergers and pizza or not bad. Dieting is not about what you eat, but it is about the number of calorie you take in a day. Pros focus on that. More calorie, more energy, better performence in the gym.

First Milos has a good symmetry, but was never consider as a big guy compare to others. Second, I m pretty sure you miss interpreted what Milos said, cause it does not make sense. If what he said was thru, do this, spend one day eating a lot of food ( pasta, nuts, rice, meat, avocados ) then train late on the afternoon. The next day do not eat anything, but really nothing, then train late on the afternoon and tell me if you feel as good an perform as good as the first day.

It probably because they dont do everything like they are suppose to do. Rememger you can t just lift weights, you got to eat well and rest at the right time. I have seen those rats, they TRY to do like pro but they do it all wrong.

You re really going out of subject now, I clearly mention on my video that bodybuilders cheat DEPENDING ON THE EXCECISE THEY DO. If we focus on back exercise ( subject of my video ), the goal of this video is to show that when doing lat pull down, swinging is not a bad thing. That it, thats all. Nothing more nothing less. I did not talk about supplements and personal trainers on my video. Stick to the subject.

Once again...this way of doing pulldowns uses more of the body's own momentum than using proper form and targeting the lats. Sure the Pros do it, most people do...they can do more weight and it looks cool. But hey, news flash, its not the best way.

Well you are not smarter. The information on the video comes from Jay Cutler interview. I only use Coleman for demonstration. And how can you flex your traps when your shoulder are going down? Do you feel the stress when doing that exercise? The Muscle move cause the shoulders are moving, not cause they are flexing. Also when in that video Coleman does not swing? A the end he does swing. The cam have simply change angles.

Perfect form first, don't listen to this guy. Ronnie was doing cheat reps to load up. Something that beginner and intermediate lifters do not need to worry about.

1. This is not proper technique for an amateur bodybuilder. Ronnie swings because his back is so muscular he has to use enormous weight to spark gains - well using so much weight puts excessive stress on weaker muscles like the biceps and shoulders. 2. If you are not a pro bodybuilder use a wide grip and angle your body a bit less than 90 degrees so that the pulldown simulates an angled row. 3. Strict form is how you become strong. It's about the rep not the weight when you're an amateur

Well anthor thing about ronnie that he trains for mega-size therefor if you had noticed in his videos he rarely works clean for a reason BUT this excersise still works specifcly on other muscles. You cant let some noob who just started lifting weights to use that form he'll grow nothing from it - you start with slow pussy form yes but it takes at least 2-3 years of hard training before you can hit the cheating like the big guys do - so dont go around on youtube tell people how to train.

that is a dum argument, bodybuilding is the sport of building muscles with symmetry. If you are able to get the muscle bigger, it probably means the technique is better. You cant get big with small weights.

If you want to learn how to drive are you gonna ask somone with no experience or a professional when many years of experience? Your intellingent will push you to choose the pro. Cause they know what to do to get big. Thats why they make thoes movies. So the professional way is the right way cause they have results, amatures dont.

If you knew more about how to work out u'd know ronnie coleman cheats in about 80% of his exercises for sevral reasons, and one of them is that hes using SUPLEMNTS that beginers dont use get it? and most of the knowledge i have is from my personal trainer so yea i'd say its like going to an exped person to teach you how to drive - thats what i did... While u just went guessing by your emotion instead of brain - i did it to but its wrong somtimes... so i fixed it

That is a very week argument. If you need to learn how to drive a car, are you going to ask someone who know nothing about driving or someone who has years of experience? If you are smart, your intelligent will push you to fallow the advise of a professional and not an amateur. That way you will be sure to have the right information. Imagine if your teacher at school was not an expert in his job, you wont learn anything

If you'd be as smart as you think you are you'd know that its not an exact LAT pull down excersise - in this excersise he focuses more on his traps muscles and the middle of the back look how it opperates - later in that same video he does the lat pull downs WITHOUT swinging... you should check your facts again. I used to think like that but you should read more and check things out.

the person who posted this video couldnt even spell right, im not to sure hes qualified to give simple advice on technique, yes ronnie coleman is on all kinds of steroids and growth hormone, hes not as concerned with form because no matter what he does hell get pick, add the fact hes gifted genetically. since not everyone has coleman genetics, i wouldnt recommed the average joe, who is trying to get symmetry, do it this way. getting the proper from targets the muscle better than using momentum

Yo kid, what is the point of eating a lot of carbs with out making exercise? Of couse you ll get fat if you don't traine. It s the same thing with prots. stupid they can turn in to fat to. And bodybuilder eat less carb and sodium before contest so they cant loss fat and be cut, you fuck.

The majority of people looking for videos on form are beginners, and this is a horrible video to teach your form. If you are a beginner, do not take into consideration anything from this video, just look at one of the other thousands out there.
