Just as I think is needed with society in general, this channel is kicking things up a notch regarding community and understanding and action.
This is the start of weekly sessions, where I...
-offer insights on a life lesson or societal issue
-share an experience from one of my projects
-or interview a guest
All of this is to create a space from which to forge a better understanding about life and better societies for all.
Thanks for watching and caring.
Feedback and ideas are very welcome.

I love all of this but I wish you wouldn't lump "politicized debate" in with all of those other forms of "shallow, knee jerk reactions." Politics are not separate from humanity. Politics are an expression of humanity in how we attempt to organize our human societies. They determine the rules that we live under. They affect our lives in so many ways, from the small and frequent experiences, to the deep, profound, life shattering experiences. Political discussion is innately intertwined with discussion of humanity, so much so that even in this video where you described politicized debate as shallow, you veered into politics yourself at least twice. That's because it's impossible not to. If the past year hasn't shown this to be true then I don't know what will. This is important because political consequences serve as highly effective roadblocks to achieving any of the goals you've laid out. People cannot find their true humanity if they are too emotionally, physically, mentally, and/or temporally taxed by life experiences, which are often the results of political consequences. The hierarchy of needs is real. My mom worked 3 jobs before the pandemic. She did not have anything even approaching the time or energy to pursue her true humanity. If those roadblocks are never cleared, these goals will never be attainable. They must be addressed and not swept aside as shallow and inconsequential. But, all that said. I commend what you're doing here. I can't imagine the dedication it has taken to continue this work. And I feel that the work you are doing is so very important. Thank you!

Your well-thought-out reply is much appreciated, denrico. You are fundamentally correct, but exceedingly rare these days is political discussion undertaken for the purposes of truly trying to help in intelligent, honorable ways. It's this prevalent, shallow political discourse I hope to avoid. And still, even in honorably standing for worthy causes, politics tempts the grandstanding, the hard-hearted, and the resistant--replacing the open, humble, and human. No matter the topic--political or not--I hope to retain the latter traits. That's what I'm trying to get across in this video. I hope you watch future ones. I'd love to interact with your thoughtful comments again. Blessings to you and your hard-working mother. -Brandon
