Really enjoyed this interview!!! Love the fellow doing the interview, behind the camera!! I love your voice!! I was really impressed with this Bill Jones, is it?! He may be a redneck/rebel, but he’s very educated, I think!! where is this?! Alabama? I lived in Alabama for a couple years with my ex-husband and our son, before we moved to Alaska so many years ago… Thank you very much. Have you found the gospel of Jesus Christ?! We are in the last days!!! ❤️🤟🌎🤗🪴😇💙👍🥰🙏🌹

How to break the vicious cycle of child abuse/neglect that creates broken people subject to mental illness addiction to quell their PTSD, then they go and have their own children and on it goes. Intervene with young mothers ? Cash bonus to be sterilized?

I visit a state prison in Cali doing chaplaincy, in fact heading there now. What you described is petty accurate. Glad you did this, most people would rather turn away. And yes, it is odd chatting with a murderer and realizing he's just like you! I'm not sure at what point we should forgive, but I do know that the men I meet with sincerely want to make amends and live a useful life.
@RobertWilliams-mk8pl13 күн бұрын
You presented your experience very respectfully and with great consideration. I'm not a liberal and I have an extremely hard line on crime. There are ordinary decent people in prison who just got caught up for one reason or another and there are animals that should not be referred to as people in no way. Some are victims of society and their environment and many are not. Prisons are necessary.

It's funny. I was just speaking to my friend today about his relative who's been committing infidelity. My friend asked me how he is supposed to stay connected with a family member doing something so objectionable. I said to him that pastors visiting prisons show kindness even to murderers. Thanks, Chris, for providing that service. I imagine it's so powerful seeing a man repent for something so irreparably harmful.
@ThePeriphery9 күн бұрын
@@RobertWilliams-mk8pl Yeah, part of the challenge for me visiting was realizing there were men in there from two very different categories. Some were good men who've repented and amended their ways. These men I wanted treated with trust and kindness, and I wished for their eventual release. But others there are not spiritually healed, might lash out, and require strictness and a close eye. They'll also reoffend if released. It's too bad we can't tell the difference between the two groups. It seemed unfair to treat kind, rehabilitated men the same as dangerous men with bad intentions. But since we can't tell, and they're all living in one place, one can only treat them all the same.

Great video, Brandon. I really enjoy hearing your perspective and take on this subject. When I was a little girl I used to visit my dad in prison...and you hit a lot of points that had went through my head. I noticed after my dad was in prison for awhile he almost seemed more comfortable in confinement...than with the choice of freedom. Thanks again, Brandon. Great video.
@ThePeriphery16 күн бұрын
Thank you, Cass. I'm glad you could connect with my experience and the points made. Yeah, that's common, I think, that hint of relief some of these men feel when confined. At least there's nothing to worry about--to be responsible for. It's sad but true that life can be so difficult that there's relief when the exposure and burden to choose for oneself is removed.

Don't feel sorry for these pukes. They are in there for a reason. I work in a prison and I see these pukes everyday. They're manipulators and cons. Leave empathy at the door if you ever go back.

I am from Arkansas, and Bill kind of reminds me of my Dad. My Dad was retired railroad and he had some hard luck when he got older, and he was sick for 17 years. He had heart failure and then he got cancer. I moved him to live by me and I went to see him after work almost everyday and cleaned his house and took him to Dr. Appointments. My parents were divorced but he had a girlfriend about 2.5 hours south of where we lived that he knew in school. Whenever I asked if he was going to marry her, he said he needed another wife like he needed a bag of rattlesnakes. But he was my best friend before he died. I would go to his house, have a beer with him, and watch TV with him after work, we watched moonshiners, meacum auto auctions, alaskan bush people, shows like that. He would come to my house on holidays. I miss him a lot. He passed in 2016. He was my biggest fan. These shows make me think of him.

Gosh, I'm glad these videos provide that memory. The relationships with our parents are irreplaceable. It's sad you lost your dad, but it also speaks to how valuable your time with him was. Many people don't have near the time nor closeness with their parents as you experienced. More to love, more to miss, I guess. Ah, the bitter sweetness of life!
