Played out the last wipe in this base - pretty damn good for a solo! My feedback is as follows: 1. I wouldn’t bother with the locker and vending machine in the honeycombing - I had two attempted raids through there and one group got in through the window and looted that square but didn’t get TC. 2. This base is indefensible in the event of an online raid. My suggestion would be to put a chute or triangle ladder up to a shooting floor above the top layer of honeycomb. Bars / embrasures on windows all around would help defend this and would not cost much in upkeep or build. 3. I was constantly getting players blowing through the wooden walls outside into my large furnace to try and steal Sulfur - they only got metal but was just a pain. Perhaps stone walls are a better option here! Other than that the bunker worked really well and foiled about 3 attempts to raid through the doors!

We've knocked bases like this for the fun of seeing something different. We have seen this base and mod mission decided to raid online offline. We took the design and built for a duo and been successful, a bit of traps but fun. I've tried this solo and couldn't get it up fast enough let alone to fill all the boxes. Then again, I'm not good solo lol. I still can't get 6 boxes in a square and I'm jealous seeing people do it.

vending machines are expensive to raid and dont drop loot when destroyed so having a second vending machine instead of a locker would be a good solution also allowing 3 more rows of non-armor specific storage

To seal the bunker, place a twig half wall under the wall with the gap at the entrance, then place a triangle floor in between the two armoured triangle foundations and upgrade it to metal/armoured. When you log back in, you break the twig and the metal floor breaks also, allowing access in and out of the base.

Definitely build the raised 1x1 (closed by a double door) first followed by the second lower square(closed by another double door to the clockwise side) as an airlock in my opinion. If you're in even a remotely populated area, you will be killed before you get to the point that everything is upgraded to stone and you're somewhat safe if you do it the way he shows it.

I agree. The ammount of resources You need if You want to build this in one go closed with one door is crazy. You can get killed farming or building or get door camped.

The ammount of storage is impressive but the downsides are: 1. You need a lot of resources early if You do it like you showed. 2. You need time to build and close it which is risky. 3. You can get door camped and have no airlock early. 4. If You dont have barricades yet they can get into your compound easy and loot your refinery and furnace and doorcamp You from the roof. 5. You have no roof access for a heli. Like how it is now i would add a garage / stables or Boat access that act as the honeycomb replacing the triangles and could lead into the yard parts atleast for the transport part. 6. All in all its hard to defend yourself. Its a Nice stacked base for a group if You ask me that wants to build a large compound base afther and leave this as a farm base when they are done. You are definitly the winner when it Comes to a stacked 2x2

I Think he went a bit box heavy, no one builds like that because no one that has 2-3k hours wants to play like that. They'd just build something better then a 2x2. Or in reality they would just make the 2x2 but better Alotta open core 2x2 starters have been made. Vice even had a challenge for the best of them.

I’ve played around with a similar concept before. It is pretty clever since it’s so cheap which is perfect for a solo. With every upside, there’s always downsides though. First, I just want to say, I’m digging your take on the 2x2, you have managed to squeeze in a ton of storage, maybe more than anyone I’ve seen. There’s some things though I will like to bring up which might be beneficial. One, it’s way too easy to jump into the “compound”. Any compound that has no turrets is just asking for its loot to be stolen. All it takes is a few meds and 2 ladders. So I would suggest either using turrets OR building square/triangle frames off your roof and completely sealing in your compound that way. Either way, if you have the bp, use external stone walls, wooden walls are easy to break. That reminds me, there’s no need to use halfwalls in your roof’s honeycomb. Low walls are just as effective at preventing splash damage while costing less. The major issue with these types of bases though is that you paint a target on yourself. People see the large furnace in a 2x2 and they know it’s going to be juicy. You also can’t defend against an online with this base, you need to at the very least add roof access. You should also consider adding one external tc, they’re very easy to build and can save your wipe. It’s a great base, don’t get me wrong I just think it paints too much of a target on your back. IMO you’re better off building a more subtle standard solo base or going bigger and making it more defendable.

I dunno about this one, it feels like it leaves you very open to a top down raid, With limited mobility inside along with multiple shelfs removing any chance for a quick run through the base to get to the one box that has what you need. No actual Compound or roof access leaves you very vulnerable when you come out. The amount of boxes feels like it is too much for a simple 2x2, if you need this much box space, i think its just better to choose a bigger more defendable base design. While i very much like the concept of a small compact base with a lot of storage i think this design can be improved upon.

I think it's just a lightning rod for raiders. Looks juicy, is very small. Everyone from scrubs with satchels, a solo with xplo, to a raiding clan would go for this.

I've been putting a turret in the back facing the front door air lock and going to sleep on the furnaces to alert me when I die. It has stopped 2 potential offline raid attempts so far

Put a compound around it and put a watch tower in that compound or modify it and instead of the drop bow area put a ladder hatch and don't put the pancake roof so you can have a shooting floor then roof access

this is fair but the cheapest way in is through doors but because of a hqm bunker a top down would cost at least 24 rockets to tc, if roof honeycomb is sheetmetal, however simply upgrading it to hqm makes it a 32 rocket raid for a fkn 2x2 is pretty good.

Just a small suggestion. I would spend a little more time actually showcasing the base as if you were actually playing so people get a real sense of what it would be like to use it. Such a brief cinematic display doesn't really capture all the base has to offer nor does it give you time as its creator to talk about why you like this particular setup. While having quality viewpoints and instructions to build it is great, and time consuming which is why I think you opted for a brief intro, I think the display portion would be more valuable information in order for people to get an idea if they like it or not.

it’s not bad for it’s targeted audience, but without armored doors, this base is 15 rockets and 14 expo ammo to boxes (raiding through the vending machine inside the bunker). 24 rockets will give the raider full access to the base. An even cheaper way would to blow the wall where the locker is placed, then following window, and splash the doors. This will allow a 18 rocket raid. The lack of an external allows for the base to be fully griefed. Heavily modifying a 2x2 is pointless as the raid cost will always be cheap. The lack of a secure starter (two wooden walls) during the early start to wipe is also brutal.
