Been reading lots of Star Wars, both original EU and Disney canon. Mostly Timothy Zahn's newer Thrawn stuff, but I recently bought the entire Darth Bane trilogy for my kindle. I'm so excited to dive into this series. I wish they would reprint the Jedi Apprentice series as a hardcover omnibus.

Hearing your review makes me want to read it (if I have time) or hear the audio version of this great trilogy.

I wasn't a fan of the way the Jedi were written in this book. I mean, yes, Drew gives a reason for why they act the way they do, allowing the Sith menace to take root - but frankly, I don't consider it a _good_ explanation. How about Farfalla just dismissing the idea of a surviving Sith based on the source it comes from? Even if he's right, isn't it the height of arrogant presumption NOT to treat it as the serious threat it is and at least _investigate_ whether they were telling the truth? Ah, but I suppose a galaxy is too giant to comb through that way. And it does tie into the Revenge of the Sith novel, where Jedi don't consume themselves with every potential possibility. But how about the Jedi team sent to check out Caleb's transmission? I'm sorry, but finding a bedraggled, scrawny young man, a shattered corpse, and just taking it on face value that HE was the Sith Lord who massacred *_FIVE_* Jedi Knights is the height of ignorance. It makes me think of the Disciple's comments about the Jedi from KOTOR 2, how it is very difficult for them to tune into the resonances of the galaxy they are sworn to serve when they are isolated from it, are raised in an environment of complete insulation.

Really I thought that was pretty cool. But yeah I can see where you are coming from. Curious, if you had the chance to redesign it, what would it be. (Non-sarcastic)

I think that this book is the weakest out of the trilogy, I also find the Zannah bits sloggish. The end was phenomenal though.

this book was way better than the 3rd one. The 3rd one was kinda mediocre
