Look at Bananarama, out there being talented, and looking healthy, confident and happy. Thinking about it the likes of Bananarama and Madonna were great examples as 'big sisters' to the little girls who grew up watching them in the eighties. Claire Grogan ( who sang with Altered Images) had a similar vibe.

There are not too many modern classic summer songs........but this is one of them........me personally I think it's the best it's so catchy and also the video backdrop of New York(Manhattan) always brings me back to my summers growing up in New York

This is a story I heard from one of the members of bananarama I guess the situation was she was shopping for clothes somewhere in London and this song was playing these young girls were dancing to the song and the lead singer one of the lead singers looked at the girls and smiled and one of the young girls worked up the courage to ask her if she goes do you know who sings this and the singer from bananarama said I do I thought that was cool as hell

Such an art school look. Siobhan Fahey went on to be half of Shakespear's Sister. There most famous song is "Stay" but "You're History" is their best IMO. Bananarama worked with three members of The Specials - a UK Ska band - as Fun Boy Three. "Our Lips Are Sealed" is a great song also covered by The Go,Go's in America.

If you haven't reacted to the Karate Kid movies you should check them out. I know you would love them. This song is on one of the movies soundtracks and is on the extremely popular follow up show Cobra Kai. They even make bananarama pancakes in the show. You would be fun to watch react to the movie and then the tv series that takes place 34 years after the movies.

Was around in the 80's these girls were adored, lusted after even lol. I grew up not far from them and yes I loved them. They were a backing band to begin with then set out on their own, they were in effect the first girl group here in the UK to make it big. Spice girls came after, for me there was no comparison.
