Examples like Sabuchi and the endurance run bans can be scary but one has already been undone and I expect the other to have the same once knowledge of what happened circles around inside DE. DE has been very communicative with the community and they usually fix problems when they pop up like this and they are made aware. in fact after reading the response they sent OreOscar in the video (the one he censored with mcdonalds) a very generous reduction of his ban to 1 year and were very understanding of his predicament with his contract, even understanding the videos have to be left up for a year by saying they will just need to make sure the videos are gone by the unban date (at least that was how I read it). Which for me puts OreOscar's video in a new light considering they got that and still made the video what it was.

His claim is that boosting is commonplace in the community FPS games so he didnt think anything of it. That's a stretch at best. He also didnt understand that warframe market is, ironically, not a market and is merely a listing service. No transactions actually occur there to make it a secondary market. He also presented a false dichotomy that the campaign he's starting will either expose DE and force them to ban 90% of the playerbase or get his ban overturned and essentially void the EULA. I presented a likely 3rd option: his campaign gets ignored and fades from the news cycle within a week to at most a month when new content drops. His year long ban then stays put.

Only after that did he go unhinged and make the 40 minute pitty party video. He deserves the permanent ban after that video.

Which seems ironic since one of his main complaints was the enforcement is up to mods' discretion and it was a mod's discretion that lowered his ban. But at this point, DE's gotten their point across. Don't promote boosting. And simply not moving the ban at all will discourage these type of reactions. Ironically, I think a similar case can be made for the creator that got suspensions due to his endurance runs wigging out the auto cheat detection. Yeah, I think it's iffy that DE's system triggered on his runs and that absolutely needs to be adressed, but don't spam literally every tweet the main account makes. I honestly don't blame Reb for blocking him. In both these cases, they got their answer, didn't like it, and then went out of their way to complain. Increasing the punishment won't convince them.

To be angel's advocate & looping your video for analysis while I as doing IRL things, there a lot of dumb stuff with the consistency of the automated flagging system & how I think that the neglect to not update it for endless missions is part to blame & a big contributor. Now being the devil's advocate, the DE staff blocking you, be it if you were trying to outreach to them in a professional manner or if there was some degree of animosity- being blocked by the people you play the game to improve the experience when you're not a bug-tester- a normal player like you, like Sab, like me- would have a 0.01% chance of success it gets fixed & your being false-flagged is the fault of the neglected maintenance of the game. That aside, you were almost the world's first 100-hr solo runner, had you continued your astonishing 95.5 Mag run. Mad props, 100%. I do intend to observe these events in real time & will closely look at whatever the course of time will be, wherever it lands, to see this get closure. Watching Sab has me be a Mesa main. Man I used to do endurance runs before I decided to make videos, Baker's situation is not new, sad that still happens to this day, also if you're going to talk about something, make sure you know about that something first and when you clic "Agree" or "Accept" or whatever variation when it comes to License Agreements, you are AGREEING TO IT, don't matter if you read it or not, and the first thing you do before you even shoot a bullet in 99% of games these days, is clicking on said License Agreement, geez :D

You know, I started watching his video the other day and at first I was trying to take his view of things because you know, Baker's video released shortly before that and made some very justified points against DE's moderation, but like halfway through watching it, I couldn't help but think three things: 1: He just kept repeating himself over and over again. I didn't bother finishing that video because it felt like he had made all his points 10 minutes in. 2: He didn't seem to understand that it was simply his obligation to do his due diligence beforehand. I mean, he could have simply contacted Warframe support and said "Hey, [company name here] contacted me about a sponsorship for their services and I wanted to make sure that these aren't in violation of the EULA or ToS first". He also seems to plead just massive amounts of ignorance. Like, if someone offers services specifically relating to a game, there *obviously* is potential that it violates the EULA. Ever heard the saying ignorance is no excuse? Claiming that you didn't know it violated the EULA because you didn't read the EULA is like saying you didn't know armed robbery was a crime because you didn't read your states criminal code. Some things should be common sense. 3: There was just a lot of vitriol in that video which I don't think really leads anywhere. Lashing out against DE and their staff, against other creators, against community artists, just all over the place and making entirely nonsensical arguments like that the design of Citrine violates the EULA's rule against pornography because she got a gemussy... like my dude, it's the *END USER* license agreement. They can make the product whatever the hell they want because it's not user generated content. It just felt like he was throwing shit at the wall, hoping that something would stick and it's just not helping his case. I mean, from what I understood in the video, the mod team was already generous enough to shorten his ban to 12 months after he explained that he couldn't take the videos down due to contractual obligations. Like, I get that he's not gonna be happy about that one, either, but I feel that unlike Baker, he's got no reason to complain there.
