I still love how they took the extra route of emphasizing the protagonist of T'challa as surrounding himself exclusively with strong women as his major support system and Killmonger as the antagonist almost exclusively spend his time fighting, using, and killing women. I highly doubt is wasn't done purposefully to further.
@dr.braxygilkeycruises14602 жыл бұрын

I used the museum scene as part of my dissertation, that I submitted back in August, to talk about colonialism in cultural heritage and artefact preservation and the lack of Black voices in academia and cultural heritage. The museum scene also had profiling stuff like how white folk follow black folk and make sure nothing happens. Didn't realize it for a while. Sure lady was racist either way
@sersastark3 жыл бұрын
@@HenshinHeroesMedia the scene was mainly to show how white folks think they have the upper hand and therefore the moral ground to tell stories belonging to non white cultures and peoples, whitewashing the stories that they tell you the public, and not expecting anyone to know better and call them out on it. It's to show that the colonisers thought they knew better and were the best equipped to handle such narratives, when in fact they are not. I also used the "bury me in the ocean with my ancestors..." quote. The after credit scene of Bucky coming out of his hut looking at peace, follows the scene after Ayo took him to the other side of the village and tested him to see that the deprogramming that Shuri did, worked on him. In the Falcon and Winter Soldier show, they revealed the scene of it working and Ayo told him he was finally free. That's when Bucky started crying with relief. R.I.P. to the G.O.A.Ts Chadwick and Stan. I'm so glad Stan lived long enough to see this movie made. I remember him talking about when and why he created Black Panther. He and Jack created a whole Hero universe of metaphors about the horrible state of the world, and inspired several generations to join Marvel comics to carry on that legacy. Here were are, in the 21st century still getting taught. It's just kind of scary how some of it really does reflect the times we are living in. A white supremacist establishment (Hydra) that wormed itself into the government to undermine the progress and hardwork done to fix the issues of wrongful sins from the past, even though the "good" government is shady themselves. Sound familiar? Btw...there is a trailer video #BINGERS MARVEL CELEBRATES THE MOVIES. It gets you so hyped. It shows where we've been in the MCU and where to next. I get goosebumps when I watch it. Please do a reaction to it. From what press release news came out about the next BP movie, they will not be replacing Chad, but making the movie about Wakanda in general. Coogler was still writing the script for it when that was announced. Idk if he finished it, but a date has been placed on its release, so...I'm sure he's done and ready for production to begin.

Word of God: -Director Coogler confirmed that Killmonger's mother died in prison and the plan that N'Jobu and Zuri talk about at the start of the movie is a plan to break her out. -Coogler explained that Donald Glover is to blame for Shuri's "WHAT ARE THOOOOSE?!" line, as Glover was given the script to critique. -Jordan claims that Killmonger's "battle vest" wasn't an intentional Vegeta reference, but he and Coogler are both anime fans, which would explain where the image came from.

Chadwick was outstanding. The scene in Captain America: Civil War, where he has that final conversation with Zemo always comes to mind as one of the character's best moments and the entire movie Black Panther is amazing - the idea of anyone else playing the part is unimaginable but I know eventually, someone will and they have some serious shoes to fill. R.I.P, Chadwick. His life was far too short but he is a legend. Wakanda Forever! I have to say that Michael B. Jordan's performance as Killmonger was off the charts. The conversation he has with his father shows in so many ways, he was still that little boy who walked into that apartment to his worst nightmare. The writers and Jordan did an amazing job creating this 'bad guy' that - while we may have disagreed with his methods - we could understand his anger, could understand his motivations and even see how he reached the point where he could do the things he did. A story is always so much more compelling when the villain isn't just some dude out there being evil because he can; Killmonger had depth, a backstory, a purpose, and he was played brilliantly from start to finish. And Danai Gurira as Okoye...just damn. BAD ASS! She was everything Brie Larson failed to be as Captain Marvel. They spent so much time telling us we should like Captain Marvel because she was a strong female character that they didn't take the time to show us. But Okoye? The scene with her facing off with the man she loves on different sides of the battle and he ask, would you kill me my love and her, "For Wakanda...without question" was so powerful because yes, she loved him, but she loved her country more. Killing him might have broken her heart but she was ready to do it and he knew she was serious. Yeah, it case it's not obvious, I loved this movie.

Also massive shout out to John Kani who plays King T'Chaka, T'Challa's father. The man has had an AMAZING life and career you should totally look up. He's from South Africa and is the reason the language used for Wakanda is X'hosa, his native tongue. He taught it to Chadwick for Civil War.
