Maybe use potions of the recycled boxes to reinforce the ends of the usps boxes from the inside. They get thrown into bins or dropped off a converyer belt . I occassionally ship cast iron skillets the handle could poke thru. Same for heels or cleats

I remembered this video today while trying to figure out how to ship a large shoebox and then found that i don't have any 1095's. Rnzy Hey guy’s! Sorry to bother, but how do you guys know how much to charge for shipping? Do you guys just put 1lbs for all shoes?

max10 nope...most shoes weigh more than 1lb. We set up shipping costs based on the marketplace. It’s pretty self explanatory on Poshmark and Mercari. On Poshmark everything under 5lbs ships for $7.11 which is charged to the buyer so there is nothing you have to do besides print and ship. On Mercari you put in the weight of the shoes when listing so we have a small $15 scale we got at Walmart.

Rnzy Got it! I just sold my firs pair of shoes on Mercari “Jordan’s 1” I had put that it was 2lbs, so it came out to $11. No body wanted to pay that high lol. So I lowered it down to 1lbs. $4.99. I’m hoping that I have no issues trying to send it. Thanks for the help!! Greatly appreciate it🙌🏼

Sounds you’re thinking of flat rate boxes. We don’t use flat rate boxes. We use the free usps boxes and put in the correct weight when listing so all you have to do is print and ship when a purchase comes in.

thebeesneez mommygrammy when you give the responsibility of tracking to a third party that they don’t have a relationship with they aren’t in control. If they can’t monitor it there is no way for them to ensure and stand behind it if something happens.

@@rnzynow the tracking number is USPS. But mercari platform probably doesn't have an option to integrate pirate ship like eBay does - and understandably, you dont use eBay. (I even use pirate ship for the 6x9 bubble mailers to send my jewelry, so im not just using for boxes.) Pirate ship is USPS approved and they don't charge a fee. Perhaps if you're shipping a sale via fb marketplace, you can compare the pricing. Matt from Part Time Pickers and Lonnie from Shed Flips & Garage Flips, often show their savings by using pirate ship. -eBay has an option to integrate pirate ship so there's only one USPS tracking #.

It's legal to use only when using USPS shipping service. You can't use any USPS boxes when you are using Fedex or UPS shipping service, no matter which platform you sell the item on.

We don’t use flat rate boxes and shipping is all calculated within the marketplaces we use (Poshmark, Mercari and Stock X) so we never have to “calculate shipping”. We make sure when listing we know how much the shoe weighs and list in that weight range. When a pair sells we simply print the label and ship.

Great video. Just wondering why you dont use the thank you sticker as bubble wrap holder i stead of an (extra) piece of tape? Seems like this would make better use of your stickers / consume oess tape, but i am not the expert. Just an idea.
