This video taught me that life is a giant rock that is slowing crushing you, but you have to slowing break that rock and get past everything that is holding you back. Now I am notorious for staying in my comfort zone and not moving away from it but this video made me look past it and see how great things are outside of it

This audio is so true ❤️ in riding I’ve had so many struggles... and one of those is the horse I love now used to get upset a lot... and he would throw many challenges at me.. but I stayed with him and he taught me nearly everything I know in riding now.. and after spraining my shoulder a year a go we really bonded the day after... and we started to understand each other and develop a respect for each other... yeah he still threw some challenges at me but he wanted to stay with me where ever I went... and now He is really happy, I’m really happy with him.. I love him to death.. he tries to follow me everywhere.. he’s super cuddly and he’s starting to get more energy... we developed a strong bond.. I really can’t believe how far we’ve come... and now all the work I’ve done is going to be gone at some point because he’s being leased to the barn I ride at and his lease is up.. 😭 and I fell off a pony recently and hurt my hip and back... and he’s the horse I go to when I’m hurt.. because I’m most confident on him.. and I’ll miss him when he leaves so much ❤️ he’s one of the best horses I’ve ever ridden and gotten me through the hardest times..

I'm going to be jumping the highest I've ever jumped in my riding lesson tonight, and well, ... I'm terrified... But this video has helped me with my anxiety. Life doesn't go on forever, if you want to achieve your goals it's now or never!

This sport is honestly amazing when you say to someone my horse bucked me off again and they say get rid of that horse don't ride anymore but you should never listen if every time a football player broke and bone and they never played again football would have a small population but if every equestrian quit, if they got bucked off once riding wouldn't exist we are strong powerful women that ride animals bigger than us, jump obstacles taller than us turn a huge animal around a barrel on a dime and we don't give up. We are truly the toughest women on the planet. if you ever think maybe people are right maybe riding isn't a sport just remember even if it wasn't a sport we would still love our horses. if in football all the teammates fought all the time and got angry at each other then football games would just be one fail after another but our teammates through us to the ground yet we get back up and keep going. so never give up.

I'm genuinely confused. I'm all for humans going outside their comfort zone and I understand this enhances personal growth but why bring horses into it? This video demonstrates humans forcing horses go out of their comfort zone and in some of the clips the horses seem to be in pain. Please could someone explain how this is inspirational and motivating? Thanks.

Sara Robinson you clearly aren’t an equestrian. It is one of the scariest sports, your horse has his own mind, he can kill you in seconds. You need to know that you can do things. You truly need to be out of your comfort zone to ride. These horses aren’t in pain.

Haley Marie xx Thank you for patronising me and for making an assumption about me based on my comment. I shouldn't feel the need to defend myself, but I will say I'm passionate about horses, have been a keen rider in the past, understand the 'scary' aspects to riding you mentioned, have been out of my comfort zone more times than I can remember and the first bone I broke was due to a fall whilst riding many years ago as a young teenager (I'm 53). My comment indicated genuine confusion (not criticism and judgement as you seem to assume) about just who is going outside their comfort zone in the video. The humans or the horses? Or both? I was hoping others would share their wisdom and not trot out that mindless equestrian line: "These horses aren't in pain." Thank you.

Sara Robinson I am sorry that my comment came off rudely. If these horses didn't want to do something they would not do it. It is inspirational to me because I am not the most confident rider, but being out of my comfort zone is the only way I can grow.

I wish you the very best in your riding endeavours and I hope you continue to grow - both on and off a horse! :-) I've just watched the video again more closely.... I have a couple of small requests, which I suspect will be ignored and that's ok. Firstly, please watch the video again, at least once, with 'open eyes'. Pause regularly - especially when you see what equestrians might call a "mistake" (I wouldn't call it that) and curiously question the tack being used, how it's being used and its possible effect on the horse's comfort level and behaviour. Secondly, expand your education using evidence-based resources on horse psychology/behaviour and also on horse tack and rider equipment (particularly head gear such as shanks, martingales, double bridles and spurs). Regarding horse psychology, you may find some evidence supporting the view that horses do what's expected of them most or what they're trained to do most. That's why you see a riderless horse complete a jumping course, even when the horse is injured or in pain. The horse isn't being clever or funny, it's simply doing what it knows to do and what it's expected to do. Horses don't choose to be abused, but they will comply with their abuser and not escape or kill the abuser. Articles on learned helplessness are relevant. This applies to human behaviour, too. I'm a qualified (human) psychologist with a passion for horse psychology - hence I spend far too much time watching horse videos!. Sorry to rant on. I have verbal diarrhoea on certain topics. I simply want what's best for you and any horse that you ride or manage.
