Your video is so helpful, I played this song at school today and it actually went great😉. Well, my stick fell twice but I still manage to get back into it and finish the song. Obviously thanks to your video, when my stick fell i just remembered how great this song sounded on your video, and that just gave me the confidence to carry on. So thank you so much😊💞

I'm doing this as part of my grade and I can do the grooves easily but I find it hard to stay in tempo any tips?
@MikeBarnesDrums5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching man! - Lots of metronome practice, also put on some classic Motown tunes are groove this main groove along, train your hands and feet to really feel it!
@CrackedCandy3 жыл бұрын
Yes all that, and one thing from one of his other videos, play it as fast as you can and just up the pace as you go, eventually you will be able to do it faster than necessary. Train your muscle memory

Hi, these videos are demos of the songs from the Trinity Rock and Pop Grades, recorded as a reference for students learning these for their drum exams. The arrangements and drum parts can vary from the originals to fit the grade level and exam criteria. The backing tracks come as a free download when you get the grade books, which are here: www.amazon.co.uk/shop/mikebarnesdrums?listId=3T6J4CT1NQD1X&ref=cm_sw_em_r_inf_list_own_mikebarnesdrums_dp_oTQioxKucr9MI Cheers!

@@MikeBarnesDrums you are awesome, these exams are only for school right? It's not like a 30 yo man has to worry about some sort of exam if he's just playing for fun, right?

@@CrackedCandy They’re for everyone! My default advice is to study the levels and take at least some of the assessments, but ultimately it’s up to you! Cheers :)

I think this is the easiest song in grade 4, I think it could have been a grade 3 song if not for like the snare, bass and crash part together. It also gets sometimes confusing when or when not to hit the crash but overall I think this could have been a grade 3 song

@MikeBarnesDrums2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, but I simply never understand these criticisms - who cares? Just focus on your job of improving your drumming. And if you really don't like the backing tracks, that's fine, don't use this syllabus. Positive vibes on this channel only please. Cheers

This one’s all about nailing it down and driving the music forward with the right feel, rather than flashy fills around the kit or anything like that. It’s soul music, ALL about the feel. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
