The One shot was mentioned during season 2 when him and O’Donnell were talking they mentioned the marine Barr and he said he dealt with that last year which is in between season 1 and 2 since a 2 year gap happened.. can’t remember what episode it was I think 3 or 4 just to point that little rid bit out so I doubt they will go that route

The ending was kinda sad and beautiful at the same time. Reacher is like a lone wolf set to travel the earth alone by choice. He dedicates himself to everyone but himself and I'd wish he do more for himself. Reacher is the literal definition of a Simple Man💯

He's basically superman, unbeatable, nearly invincible, always being right, murdering everyone left and right after after his opponents are already beaten. I get the appeal of revenge power phantasies, but this one's too unrealistic and predictable (of course Swan was a good guy all along) to even be entertaining.

I read all books and i got very mixed feelings about this series. Regardless of all hype for season 2, for me it is much weaker than S1 - for sure it has more action but this is not about what Reacher is at least for me. 1. Physique part of Reacher is checked belouse Alan fits this and i think you wrong about Tom not fiting the role - he was too short, its obvious mismatch to book but for all other aspects he acted and presented Reacher better (his first movie was good, second was trash). Ironically books are all about Reacher, prime series are all about other show member, there is too few Reacher there.

I think the most Reacher thing that happened this season was that a tortured, dying husband and father’s last thoughts went not to his family, but to his former boss-Reacher-who the dying man was happy to picture avenging him. That’s the kind of thing I watch Reacher for. That and a never-ending stream of unknowing government agents reading Reacher’s resume in awe. The action and crime-solving is just a bonus.

Your analogy of Reacher = The Incredible Hulk is spot on. This isn't normally my kind of show, but I really love it. Its so satisfying watching this big monster of a guy beating the hell out of the bad guys. A bit simplistic but its well executed and Alan is great in the part.

@@cvo7617 the first couple of seasons will have bigger breaks just because they don’t know yet if it’s a hit, it keeps being successful we will hear about the renewal of next season sooner and sooner then the writing team can get started earlier and the preproduction this filming can start earlier and give us smaller breaks but yeah Reacher is starting way older than Sam and Dean. At this point 4 seasons seems reasonable and given Alan wants to keep doing this since it’s got to be a lot on the body to maintain that size - maybe a few more beyond that - there’s a lot of books to do…

That last confrontation in the helicopter sort of went into marvel territory. Hanging on to a loaded stretcher out of the back of a moving helicopter while getting kicked hard, on the heels of another serious beating, well, that makes suspension of disbelief kinda hard.

It was a wonderful season 2, don't see any criticism of it as fair knocking having a team - it was great seeing his past and actually having a team. It was high stakes, thrilling, and action awesome. It was beautiful seeing the old team as family, reconnecting, then getting closure and justice - and moving on to being the lone wolf wanderer again. Of course Season 3 will be more a lone wolf in a new setting making new friends, but that makes S2 all the better for giving the contrast and fleshing out the past and the closest thing he has to a family. This portrayal of Reacher is so perfect as a giant force of nature badass, and a quiet deliberate good natured nomad, I can see a lot of future seasons. There are plenty of books and ideas, just stay true to the nature and spirit of it all.

The ending was pretty anticlimactic with the bad guys. I wanted to see Reacher do more to Langston and that death wasn't all that satisfying as a viewer. I eas also really looking forward to the showdown with A.M. He was such a cautious and vicious villain and kinda became lazy by him walking right into an ambush. I wanted to see Reacher man handle A.M. and they didn't do that character justice at the end

I agree with you on the Langston part, troughout the whole season I had the line "Wait till you meet the big guy" in mind which was said early on by Franzy, so him not being absolutely DESTROYED in the end was anti-climatic. When it comes to A.M though, it depends on how you look at it, yes he was made to be this smart and impressive villian only to be defeated with no issue at all, but I think it honestly works, as he was still acting "smart" in the final showdown, so him getting shot over and over again while doing this typical villian talk was kind of comedic and rewarding, but I understand the other side where people wanted to see more from him.

Am i the only one wondering how Reacher and crew havent been locked up as a vigilante group who killed somewhere near 30 or 40 people, some in a firefight but they executed several, even soldiers wouldnt do that, they take prisoners, especially if they are MPs. By the last episode, i was expecting one liners and quips like some sort of 80s action movie. I've only read one Reacher book, set during his days as an MP, which i found more interesting to see, the procedural, the on base red tape, the international freedom of movement via military transport, some family drama, a far cry from this show

@jonny_laguna yes I know it's fiction, but the fiction it's based on put a lot of effort into the realities and intracies of military and police procedures. Killing everyone without consequence is dumb doesn't have to be to realistic, John wick kills everyone, because that's his profession, Reacher is a former law enforcer, even military ones know they need to bring people to justice according to the laws, not execute them as he sees fit.

I just finished Reacher, season 2 ep 8 Good stuff. My first Reacher novel was "Trip wire" I went back and bought the first two . I haven't missed a new book since, except for "The Sentinel" I "read" that as an audiobook. As a former MP, I'm 6'5" , but the most weight I was able to carry was 230. (and that took a lot of work) and Negly was right, My big ass ran so slow you could time me with a calendar. But Reacher is a guilty fantasy. Because If I did the shit he did in the military or on my civilian LE job I would still be in prison. Can't wait for season 3.

Chronologically, the amazon series considers the "one shot" storyline to have already happened between season 1 and 2. in a episode 2 this season, Reacher has a line when they are discussing possible grudges against the 110th, and Reacher mentioned that James Barr is not a threat and he "owes me now". it's a good way to avoid retreading the same story, but still references it. it also lines up with the book series storyline. season 3 will probably adapt a later book than the 11th (unless they pick one of the books that jump back in the timeline)

They are 100% going to do "One Shot". It may not be season 3 but it very well could be. I can't remember which episode of Season 2, but Reacher name dropped James Barr. They wouldn't have done that if they weren't going to cover it at some point.

Reacher is essentially a remake of the 70’s TV Series Kung Fu. In that series, David Carradine is a wonderer and brings justice through martial arts. The plots are identical. Having said that, I am throughly enjoying Reacher. Has anyone else realized the exact plots of both shows?

You can count out doing the book from the first Tom Cruise movie considering he mentioned Barnes "owing him" during this season which means that book happened between season one and two 🤷

I want to thank you for this video. When I saw the episode there was one person that received money that I didn't recognize. After watching your video I figured out that it was Jane Burns.

Finale just felt rushed to me. I wish they could have stretched this to 10 episodes. That, and the scenes with Langston just come across as nonsensical. He's already tried to eliminate Reacher several times (biker gang, snipers). Once in his control, you'd think he would have identified the threat level, put bullets into Reacher and the two others and worry out the rest later (he already knows about Neagley's father).

The show never dealt with Jane and her mother. The two were sent to Buffalo to hide out, and never mentioned again. It's odd that Reacher didn't provide for them in some way.

Season 2 was really really solid. The finale was very satisfying and fairly close to the book. They took quite a bit of creative freedom this season compared to the first, sometimes it was good and sometimes I wish they would've stayed truer to the book. The casting of Karla and David were right on the mark with how I envisioned them to the source material. Can not wait to see what book they adapt for season 3! As far as the book they could choose, they also mentioned that the events of One Shot already happened so that one is obviously out of the question. I think Die Trying is a great option for them to do. Another option could be Worth Dying For or Persuader. Either of those 3 would be perfect choices, but there are so many solid books to choose from.

Like season, one season, two was excellent and the question in my mind. Why can’t Disney produce something as comparable?

The one thing not mentioned was the disconnect from the book. Both the beginning and ending were different. Not terrible, but different.
