Thanks, I don't know what it is about the newer achievements, its just never felt the same has it. It might have something to do with single games having hundreds of achievements and most are for nothing interesting, so i guess if you see them all the time its nothing special anymore. I wish the challenge flew by haha, some of it was really hard going, but really happy to have finally hit it. Not going to stop with the 360 though as even when I was regretting my life choices, I still preferred the challenge of the achievements over what I've been playing afterwards

Great video! Makes sense now with all the IG posts you were doing :) I stopped doing the monthly Targets on TA, at least for the time being. I've been having a hard time getting motivated to play proper games for achievements (mostly mop-up old Xbox 360 games from my 2017 bean dive lol) and doing the KZbin thing at the same time, so kudos to you for that. Cheers, I had to do something to justify all the filth I was playing haha. Sometimes the medals just keep me motivated, but I do find they get me playing stuff I really didn't want to in the first place. I will stop when I accidentally miss one. I'm going to have to say its tough to find the time to play games, make videos and have a full time job. I just chip away at games and projects slowly and in the end I get things finished. I also dont sleep a lot. Probably only about 4 hours a night. Also setting myself these kinda challenges also spur me on. Thanks, I really wasnt ever expecting to hit the 1k and 1 mil in such a close proximity.

Fun fact you mentioned at the start that xbox 360 games have 1000 gamer score. But condemned: criminal origins has only 970 total gamer score and the godfather game has 835.

I have the full 970 on condemned and have played godfather but never realised. I think I must have started it after the DLC came out which bumps it up to over 1000. Do enjoy the odd little differences from early on in the systems history.

I really reccomend Captain America, its way better than it deserves to be. Nascar has a ps3 version and its region free so you know you want to give it a go haha. I had to pay homage to him, it just felt like the right thing to do. Well, I might have to up that trophy score from here on out. That or just hit all the backlog like mad and finish off the 52 game challenge

@@bluetonic78 I do find when they make stuff almost impossible like hit number one in the world on a game that's going too far. If you just have to learn and get good at a game to a level anyone can achieve I'm behind that. I also love the idea that you can go for them or not. I was worried one day that they would lock different parts of the game behind them which would be a terrible idea. 42k is not to be sneezed at. I know so many people who have been playing since day one but have under 5k. At the end of the day the number means nothing and doesn't add or take away any worth of being a gamer. Its just fun to look through.

Very true. You do get the odd game where you fluke a 100% collectible run and its always a good feeling though. The mile high club achievement is more annoying as its not too hard, but you always get some thing your not expecting to happen each time. I got pretty good at it and helped a few friends but doubt I'd have a chance anymore. Might have to fire up the remaster haha

Congratulations on your 1 million gamerscore. I would love to watch a video about good and bad achievment games. As a recommendation or warning about certain games. Not necessarily easy 1000 g games. Good achievment games in my opinion, like farcry primal where you have to go around a lot, but not all the way to get 1000 g. Bad acivments where you play through on normal difficulty and do not get easy difficulty achievment at the same time and similar bs. For example, edf 2017. Personally proud of Dark souls 1000 g where I feel like I have worked for it.

@@metaljens125 A good achievement game always wins out over an easy completion. There has been many that have just been a blast to play and I wish went on for much longer. Which I don't write them off, I do keep playing after the achievements are done if it's worth it. Congrats on the dark souls completion. I've never actually done one myself, but also haven't tried. I do have them so might take the plunge into rewarding frustration haha. I've heard good things about far cry primal but I skipped over it as I didn't know if it would be any good. I do think I have it somewhere so that's another on the to play list now I'm not just confined to the 360. I'll definitely look into doing a follow up achievement video

As long as people are using an achievement tracking site like true achievements most of the people cheating get caught. Although those systems do have a purpose in my eyes. They are great for preserving content thats been delisted.

All the consoles in the past never had any licence issues when playing games from the previous generation. It should be a standard feature, not be left to the modding community.

I actually love tank controls, mostly in fixed camera games, but they need to have some kind of quick turn available. I kinda regret calling MorphX purely tank controls. Its weird it like a hybrid. I couldnt work it out. It might have been tank when stood still but would strafe if you were already running. Whatever it was it didnt work haha.

I've got a few Japanese 360 games (and a Japanese console), but I assume you can't unlock achievements on your UK XBL profile? How did you do it for NTSC?

@@EdGreenall some of the games are region free. If they are just play like normal on your UK machine. If not load your profile on a region console your wanting to play a game from. You can unlock achievements like normal. They don't region lock achievements but they do.dlc... which isn't a worry anymore with it all unavailable. Some Japanese and American games have the same achievement list so you won't be unlocking them again but if they are listed separately on Xbox for different regions you can unlock a new set of achievements. I hope that makes sense

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I love achievements but it took me quite a while before I got hooked. But I also hate them as getting the last couple for a 1000g or platinum can be a misery. Especially when buggy or super easy to miss collectables and no chapter select. Exactly as you say, I love the fact it's your digital gaming history. It is a real shame the xbox one/series has a bad achievement system. They are delayed and online only, there is no adrenaline kick anymore. Just this panic where nothing happens and you don't know if it's delayed or broken. It's been over 10 years since the xbox one was released and they still haven't fixed the achievement system, just broken promises that they are going to improve it. They even took away the gamer card so you can't see how many games you have completed. I almost never play on Nintendo consoles as I love having that gaming history on the other consoles. Collecting achievements also made me realise how really terrible I am at games. The trophy guide estimate or youtube playthrough can be 3 hours. But it can take me 8 hours to get the 1000g/platinum.

Thanks. There are so many games I leave with one achievement left and keep going back to. Sometimes it just takes continued attempts. I think it took me about 10 years to finish PGR3 of consistently trying over and over to hit the platinum medals. Just everything about the achievement system from the One onwards just hasnt entertained me. Xbox need to really look at playstation and their trophy system as thats continually being worked on an improved. Xbox seem to have just forgot about it and moved onto other stuff very little people care about. I used to love looking at the list of games that I had hit 100% on. Just to sadly remember what i played and how much I enjoyed them. Depends on the type of game for me and how carefully I follow any guides to whether I find the times accurate on roadmaps. I usually give them a quick once over and see what I can get and do a second playthrough, so takes me way longer than it should.

Achievements/Trophies and gamerscore are the worst thing to ever happen to gaming. People would now play utter crap, Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Burning Earth, simply because it would get them an easy 1000g. I hate the retro achievements boom because it's bringing the complete for completionists sake mentality to older games, where before they actually had to be fun to make you want to see everything.

The playing of the bottom of the barrel games was only really beneficial to the publishers at the end of the day, and they played people well. That Avatar is weird though, you will only smash out that score super quick if your after it. I know someone who was a big fan of the show and not into achievements and beat the game without the 1000g. I truly believe you dont have to go for all or even any achievements, I just like the added challenge and helps me get a bit more out of the games I've paid for. I'll give it there is a lot I wouldn't have picked up as soon as I did without them, but ive been going for a full 360 set for years just because its my favourite console, So if I've bought them I might as well play them. I can see the argument for achievements making devs lazy though. If they cant make it fun they just slap on an easy list and it will sell like hot cakes. I would prefer people put all their time into making the best game they could and overall focusing on fun though.

@@BawhawhawYT The Xbox 360 is one of only two consoles I keep connected to my TV, the other being the Sega Saturn. The 360 is a top system for me but just don't like achievements. I remember grinding out the Riddler trophies in Arkham City, stopping to go get a brew, and on my returning wondering "just why am I doing this?" The collection of the Riddler trophies had become more like work than a fun gameplay mechanic. I think it was that moment I went from ambivalent to hate for achievements. I'll never see the real end of Arkham Knight because I'll be damned if I'm going to go get all the Riddler trophies to do it. Well I've seen it on KZbin and that's enough for me. If people enjoy achievements, gamerscore, and trophies then they shouldn't let me take that from them. I'll just never be convinced they were anything but a bad thing to happen for gaming.

I think its not just an achievement problem that they put so much stuff like that in, I think they just want to artificially lengthen games these days. So many places will always report how long a game is as a positive. For me I prefer a shorter game these days.
