TECHNICALLY its not infinite because at some point you will reach the integer limit for the sector counts but thats like 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 or 2,147,483,647 if youre using 32 bit. the biggest size a source map can have (aka each sector in the infmap) is 24576 inches or 0.6242304 kilometers, and that would be 5757509215914671443 kilometers for 64 bit systems and 1340524575 kilometers for 32 bit systems

In other words, the 64-bit world would stretch across 600 thousand light years, and the 32-bit world 9 astronomical units!

This map is technically not infinite, you physically cant leave the chunk that you can play in, so the creator made it so that when you get close to the chunks end it teleports you to the other end, making everything in the chunk invisible and making so it looks like you are getting further from it. there is a very cool video on how this work I really recommend it as I cant explain lots with my english

No, it doesn't generate anything, instead it is a full map, but it's broken into chunks. If a player enters a new chunk, they will be teleported back but they will be invisible. Then a visible clone of them appears in the chunk they went to. And it creates a clone of every object that was in that chunk and moves it 1 chunk away from the player that moved to give the illusion of infinity.
