These word based meditations always seem so complicated. I like to leave the words behind. Just be happy and gently watch with the inner vision starting from your heart and moving upward intuitively. If the monkey wants your attention. Give him a little time and he will go away for a little while. Then return to the inner vision. Be patient, quiet, and peacefully tenacious.

It would have been more beneficial if it included a side not that not everyone is fully aware of emotions at all times, and that's fine. When I just started meditation, I would really dwell on that because I couldn't seem to find any emotions, and it would ruin the rest of the meditation for me. Ironically, it was precisely because of my lack of emotional awareness that I started meditating in the first place. The Headspace app does that part quite well, and allows novices like myself to slowly build it up. Just saying "feel your emotions" isn't easy for many of us, especially men, in my experience. It tends to be more of a subconcious thing. Then again, this was an event for women, so perhaps that was a concious decision. (if the stereotype is true, that is)

Super presentation but wasn't that meditation a little bit too quick. That would have frustrated me a lot as a beginner to just jump from place to place so quickly and never really experience any sensations and the idea of letting them go.

I'm surprised you're unaware of Sam Harris if you practice "mindful meditation". Sam is well known and published a book titled "Waking Up, A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion" in 2014. www.samharris.org/podcast Your opening in your talk is almost identical to Sam's guided meditation. When did you publish yours? I will post the opening narrative of both.

I thought meditation meant focusing on a single blank point and listening to your inside self.. but she tells to play the mind to feel the chair, air, make a bubble of emotion!! It’s difficult to focus that way. Good if it works but I don’t buy it.
@ganeshms3247
@ganeshms3247 3 жыл бұрын
This type of meditation is " Being conscious of Awareness " category of meditation..Concentration/focus is good to train the mind but later on we use the fine tuned tool of mind to be aware of sense perceptions, thoughts, emotions and feelings and to dis-identify from their stickiness quality, and eventually step out of life -story based thinking and feeling..

If you are a non-violent country like Bharat(India), pursuing spiritual revelation, make sure your neighbors are also non-violent. Ha ha. Bharat was invaded countless number of times from the north west. Aurungzeb of the moguls was the worst. He assembled 5000 hindus everyday, asked them to convert to Islam, those who did were spared, the rest decapitated on the spot. Estimated 2 crore hindus were slaughtered by him. Turkish general burnt the Nalanda Buddhist library as the monks clung to his feet begging that he not do it. Vedic way of life, flourished in Bharat for about 200-300 years, around 2000 BCE. But now new evidence suggests Dwarka existed 12000 - 15000 years ago and is now covered by the arabian sea. Vedic civilization perhaps pre-existed the Babylonian and Chaldean cultures. Why do you think Vedic Brahma is the god of creation of all humanity and Abram - later changed to Abraham - is the Judaic patriarch? Similarity in names? The reason why Egyptian Pharaoas' bodies were preserved in pyramids was, the inner-sanctum priests were very close to perfecting siddhis to do mind-over-matter miracles, including bringing a dead body back to life. Politicians and warring kings eliminated that possibility. If you read the translations from Coptic to Greek to English of the hundreds of manuscripts discovered around Alexandria - Ireneaus, Valentinus, Eboionites, Pistis Sofia, etc. - you learn that many isolated advanced sects ate very little food ( only bread, salt and gryssop, water) and spent long hours in meditation and studying spiritual practices from a few rare spiritual master-priests. There are hundreds of references in the literature of the development of Gnosticism leading up to post-christianity period, say, 150 to 400 CE, saying in no uncertain terms that miracles were being performed. They were spiritual savants. Vedic literature says the same and confirms it. They knew MIND-SCIENCES and space motion and not mass motion. The reason they were more advanced than us today, and could perform such miracles was "THEY WERE NOT BRAIN-WASHED" by what we call science today, principally, by three factors called TIME, MONEY and MATHEMATICS. Our Brain-mind complex has been conditioned over centuries. We collect things, they collected ideas. Today, our deteriorating mental status is the price we are paying for scientific material progress, technology, easy-life devices etc. etc. Search for Ravi sadana on KZbin and watch my two videos on the subject. Good luck.
