When you do the research, you will understand that this war is between two truly bad countries. Both equally corrupt (top 1 and 3 in EU) and Ukraine has one of the strongest nazi infested strongholds in EU. Ever heard of the nazi Anders Breivik who killed 77 children? The Ukraininan nazis salute him as a hero. If it would have been any other country then Russia, then most wouldnt have cared about Ukraine. When you do the research you will understand.
