Yugoslavia came close or even beat it in many areas. The two only true rock industries in the world tough, at least in the 70's and 80's. Sadly 99% of the people have never heard of any of the thousands of songs that are on the level of the best stuff made by the most famous English-speaking bands.

After a show in The Netherlands Lemmy Kilmister (RIP) and the band came down to the bar and had drinks with the fans still hanging out at the bar. No security present or needed. So I actually had a talk and a few drinks with Lemmy and the band. Really nice and down to earth guys. Nice reactions to the bands of my childhood.

Fun fact about Sabbath's Paranoid, it was cobbled together at the eleventh hour to fill remaining space for their upcoming album "War Pigs", when the band finished the song, knowing they might have a banger on their hands renamed the album to Paranoid, but the War Pig album cover remained.
