A little more Background information for you: The guy with the blond mullet is their new singer. And to introduce him properly, the band decided to make this over the top style video. Fun Fact: Their drummer (yes, that Dude who Air Humps his Drumkit and Smashes the Cymbals to oblivion) won Germany's "The Bachelor" in 2017! Eskimo Callboy (Eskimo is the german word for the Inuit, the guys who live in parts of Alaska or Greenland) is well known in Germany for mixing electronic elements into their Songs (for this song they used kind of a sample from the Song "Maria (I like it loud)" from the german Techno Gods Scooter). This was just a big fun project for them. Make a fun song/album with the new guy, an even more funnier and goofy video. And the "Dance group" at the End: Those are german KZbinrs / Streamers / Meme-Loards. The blonde man in the middle (Kalle his his name here on KZbin) made the Dance Video as a 200k special for his channel and the guy with the afro has 1.9 million subscribers (his channel is called HandOfBlood). He was also the Main character in Eskimo Callboy's video for "MC Thunder 1 & 2". For a different tone and look, you should check out " Crystals" & "Hate/Love" by them. And at the moment, they're dropping coverversions of Hypa Hypa made from different german Bands and Artists. The two that already dropped are from the german Folk Metal Band Saltatio Mortis and german pop singer Sascha. There is going to be a complete EP with covers. And if someone wrote "Ehre Alla" in the comments... Thats a catchphrase (I think from HandOfBlood) and it's translated with "Honor Dude". Greetings from Germany!

The aesthetics are a bit confusing to Non-Germans who don't know about German culture back in the 90s. The thing is, they aren't simply making fun of 80s fashion with the mullets and all that. What they are really making fun of is a phenomenon that happened in Germany and some other parts of central and north-western Europe (like the Netherlands) back then, after the 80s. A lot changed between the 80s and 90s. The coal mining and steel industries went belly up and tons of men who thought they had a future in certain heavy industries found themselves faced with unemployment or having to find other jobs. That basically created a whole generation of "peaked in high school" guys who felt very nostalgic for their youth in the early 80s, wouldn't let go and kept dressing like that well into the late 90s, long after everyone else had moved on. They were still running around in mullets and with handlebar mustaches and doing other tropes from the 80s long after it stopped being cool. We are talking about a million working class soccer hooligan types roughly one and a half decades after this style had vanished everywhere else in the developed world. Teens in the 90s used to make fun of those 30 to 40 year old guys who still hung around at rave parties and dance clubs, trying to pick up girls half their age while looking like caricatures of a bygone era. It was such a big thing that there also were tons of movies and TV series making fun of those low class, low education mullet dudes. That is what this song and the weird mix of 80s and 90s aesthetics makes fun of and that is why it makes sense that the dudes look like from the 80s while the chick looks like a raver girl from the 90s and why there are those techno and boy band elements in the song that seem anachronistic when mixed with the early 80s fashion. Eskimo (or now Electric) Callboy come from the former heartland of those dead heavy industries and that cultural phenomenon, where it was the worst.
