With the 3 bears and the dog food, she probably risked it because it was black bears and they're usually pretty nonconfrontational and will readily run off. Would have been suicidal if it had been brown bears.

Yep, my area has grizzlies as well as Black bears, along with the usual assortment of cougars, coyote, rattlesnakes, and moose. We have gray wolves too but those are extremely rare to run into anywhere, very low numbers. out of all of them, you don't mess with the grizzlies or the moose and hope they do you the same courtesy. I'd say the same of the rattlesnake but honestly they go out of their way to warn you they are there specifically so they DON"T have to bite you. It is usually idiot people letting life long indoor lap dogs run free in the woods that don't have the sense to not run up on a rattlesnake that have trouble. I blame the humans, not the dogs.

afaik, with those kinds of bears if you don't at least yell at them then they slowly become more accustomed to being around humans until they're willing to go there while humans are there

I am pretty sure they were all juveniles - certainly the three with the dog food were - and would have been very skittish. They are dangerous if cornered but don't know how dangerous people are and so would rather run if they can, Also they are black bears, which are much smaller and more timid than the enormous grizzlies/brown bears.

It's difficult to identify an individual who hasn't been arrested before. If there's no record of that person, like finger prints or photo then most of the time it's pretty much impossible to identify.

Those three bears were just out doing a normal day's work really. The part you don’t see here on camera is that when they got home, they found that someone had been sleeping in each of their beds and eating all their porridge. I bet they wish they had a Ring camera themselves.

I recommend that everyone get a couple of large dogs and a firearm. The dogs usually scare criminals away before they try anything, and the firearm gives the homeowner a way to end the criminal's life in case he or she did not heed the dogs' warning.

If you're doing this to my house, don't be surprise if you get a few bullets coming your way if you manage to break through the door. If you live in a US state that gives more legal protection for the home invaders than the people who live there, you probably need to move. How was he not identified? Well let me answer that: With this picture they can put it up on the local news but if he has no criminal record anywhere that the face is going to match and may not be local, here is the description you would be giving out: "Caucasian male, early 20s, about 5 foot 8 inches/1.72 meters, darkish brown short hair. Slim build. Average dark grey or black business suit." Tell me-how many guys in just your neighborhood alone would that match? now how many in just your city? now how many in your country? Now add to that the manpower hours to try and do a more thorough track down when no violent crime (that we know of anyway) was committed, only the crime of impersonating a police officer with no actual theft or harm? Yeah...that's why. it'd be nice to track down the wackos like that but the sad truth is we have too many violent crimes across the US ranging from domestic violence to armed robbery to rape to shootings both individual, gang related, and mass to be bothering unless they manage to be caught in the act or happen upon them by chance later on. that is not to say they won't try-they definitely will keep an eye out but its going on their extremely low priority list, especially in major cities.
