Sorry for mangling the pronunciation of ATEEZ! We now know it’s actually pronounced “Eighties” 😅

the fact that Yunho (the guy with red hair and the green coat that singed at the start) is more of a dancer than a vocalist (he is a main dancer in Ateez) but still slayed his parts is so 😌👆 love the reaction guys!!!

I was reading all of your replies to comments and they are so polite not that I would expect anything different from the two of you. Especially your replies to the people that say you should react to this song, this song, this song, and this song even though you've already reacted to almost all of them. You all really are great. Also the writing that you're putting up on the brick wall background is staying up long enough for me to read it without having to pause it. It's literally the perfect amount of time so thank you for that.

Ateez is word play for A to Z (see their Say My Name MV). It's pronounced closer to the letter A + tease. (The t in 80s is so soft it's almost a d and the syllables aren't evenly accented.) Thanks so much for your kind words about Ateez. It was a great collab. If you like this you might like their cover of Bruno Mars' Leave the Door Open.

After we filmed our reaction I went to watch a few interviews to learn how they actually pronounce it! 😂

Scott and Mitch beatbox as well. Many times it’s Scott beatboxing when Kevin is singing as well as Scott singing bass when Matt is singing lead. They try to arrange in a way that it can still be performed live. They’ve added more producers and arrangers that have shown them different live layering techniques to mimic instruments instead of just harmonizing. They are offering a PTX a cappella course. It’s 30 days and they have a video talking about it. The deadline to enroll is next week. I think it’s about $250 but they are sharing everything they know and teaching you how to use the software they use. You’ll end up with 2 finished songs!

We saw the course trailer! Wish we could say that we'd sign up, but I think our performing arts days are behind us for the time being, LOL 😂

I don't agree about singing. Im sure it's double or triple tracking, because they have 10-12 tracks at the same time...

Kirstie REALLY had that 80s side ponytail going there. I was in college in the 80s so I remember that look well (every girl I dated that decade)! They double-tracked Kevin's beatbox during his solo and "horn solo", the same way they did in the Butter-Dynamite mashup during his rap. I think the background was actually BLUE-screened instead of green-screened. I've been in TV production for a long time, and I can see the slight difference in the surrounding hues between a blue screen and a green screen. Besides, too many of them were wearing green colors to do a clean green screen (sorry for the three-word rhyme there!)

Probably a double track for Kevin. They will figure out a way to do this live. For great Kirstin performances, listen to Rather Be, Say Something, Shallow, Seasons Of Love (televised), Water (from the Popspring 2016 performance, Be My Eyes, and Love Me When I Don’t. The last three were written by her.

Pretty sure it was done with a green screen background, and ateez's videos were just sent to ptx's team for editing I think lol

Yeah, green screen definitely makes the most sense for all of em 😆

I'm pretty sure Kevin layered the singing and the beatboxing. They are using much more production on this latest album. I don't have a problem with it, since it's all their voices regardless. Maybe they'll do something with Kevin's fantastic looper ability when they perform it live.
@ZhenYaoYin3 жыл бұрын
From our experience watching them live they tend to rearrange the song slightly. But you're right, there seems to be more production in this album, so who knows, they may do something different. In any case, can't wait for "this" to all be over so that we can start travelling to watch PTX in concert again! 😍

Apparently Matt, Scott and Mitch are decent beatboxers if the rhythm isn't too complex. Could be any of them doing or they just looped Kevin
@ZhenYaoYin3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we've definitely heard Scott beatbox live before when Kevin's doing the melody! 😄

it bothers me so much that the first guy's teeth seem to match his green coat! he must be a smoker but its so hard to listen to his voice when all i see are his green teeth! still this was cool and i've listened to it 5 times which is more than i have any other new ptx song in the first week in a long time!
