the only problem i have with the removal is that its not empowering players with their choice. If someone doesnt like all-chat, myself i have never used all-chat because why would i want to know what my enemy is saying, its simple enough to disable. Your own team is far and away the worst source of interaction. Having daddy Riot come in to force it upon players is just silly

I love the Gl Hf, and the joking around and chatting in all chat. Granted, im a low elo player and mostly play casual so it is a lot more chill and on average I see way less feeders and blatant trolls. All chat is where I get the community aspect of league. Even just the Gl Hfs are nice, but even more than that you get the people talking about random shit or just a few quick enjoyable back and forths either jokes or something. I see these way more on all chat than team chat. Hell theres a good amount of games where im just not having fun, and my team might even be shitting on me in team chat and someone in all chat says something nice or encouraging or just a bit of levity from your team spam pinging everytime you die.

I don't understand LS's and Nemesis's thoughts here on all-chat. It already is disabled by default. You have to enable it in settings to use it. All it does is disenfranchise the community from the game itself and this poses a problem for its longevitity and engagement. Perhaps Riot wants to do this however to artificially transfer its playerbase to its future MMO

The jinx passive buff is MUCH more than a dagger when it's triggered! A dagger grants 12% bonus attack speed, which for Jinx (with a 0.625 base AS) means an extra 0.075 attacks per second Jinx's passive is calculated differently than percent attack speed: it's a flat multiplier to attack speed AFTER level-up and item stats are calculated. So if she had 1.5 AS (for example) before popping the passive then pre-buff it would increase to 1.725 an now its 1.875. So while it's still a fringe-case that the passive is on in the first place, the buff is a SIGNIFICANT increase to her potential output. We'll see how it plays with the reworked Lethal Tempo for big popoff plays.

Main thing I used all chat for this season was basically just to compliment enemies for sick plays. First riot removes the option to honour enemies, and now they take away to communicate and exchange banter during the game. It's almost as if they want to remove the social aspect of League, which tbh is one of the reasons I was still playing. Won't stop because of this, but it's still sad.

I think we will see all chat come back to the NA server pretty quick, although I play in the Korean server so I think the argument is that yeah, in NA people have fun with all chat. In Korea, there really isn't the same level of banter or funny uses of all chat and people literally use it so much, that I think 8/10 games I have to report people for racism or harassment in chat and I always get a notification that they were punished. I have had to play with chat off for so long because it tilts me so hard to just see one of the players on my team standing afk for 30 seconds just to type an essay in all chat about how their team is trolling, so I think it will stay disabled in Korea.

All chat gets used a lot in for fun game modes. Not as much in ranked (although here in NA I don't see much flame, mostly just glhf, ggwp/ggez, and the occasional surprise at what a champion can do are what I see most often), but they're disabling it for normals/aram/urf/etc. which I hate because all chat in those modes is great.

If they are concerned about new players joining the game, they should add a useful tutorial and better bots (thats where most new players start). Even without allchat (and i think its a good change, cause allchat has no purpose and emotes still work), new players will get flamed into the ground by thier teammates. Players will not be toxic all the sudden and with no allchat, they will turn on thier mates. Edit: Lux can R two waves at once.. so the reset is even stronger! :)

I do agree that all-chat can be used for bad intents, and that it isn't that much important for the game experience, but removing it is just, so fucking wrong. I've met one of my best friends through all-chat, and i'd definitely wouldn't have met them without it. Why not just penalize all-chat misusers harder? Why penalize people that use it for fun interactions? In my experience, i've rarely seen it being misused. And not everyone is high-elo to a point where everyone knows everyone in the game enough to decide whether or not they want to be friends with them or not, so although in high elo it wouldn't be that useful, at low elo it's a great tool to get to know other people. I play mostly solo lanes, so there isn't a person that I interact more in a match than my enemy laner. As long as you've touched some grass in the past days, you can have a decent small chat with the enemy, laugh at something silly that happened, etc.

The players are not robots, no matter what Riot does they will keep flaming. The game is designed to piss you off since you can lose a whole game from just one player's mistake or intentional mistake. In Csgo or valorant you can solo carry so there's less flame, but here you can't.
