The worst part of the Clorinde demo is that I feel bad for the Hilichurl Rogue. Everything else is perfect.

It definitely feels like Hoyo focuses on characters' movesets in trailers for characters we've known in the story for a long time such as Gorou and Chlorinde, and focuses more on personality for characters we've barely or never interacted with like Faruzan, Wriothesely and Chevuruse. We'll be getting a new 5 star in 4.8 named Emillie who we've never interacted with but only heard in passing from character voicelines, so it'll be a good way of seeing this trend.

Oh you don't need to worry about Clorinde lacking depth as a character 😅, but you'll see that for yourself. Also, her story quest is the most unique so far. All fontaine character quests were very good, but with hers Hoyoverse tried something new. Cna't wait for you to reach sumeru and fontaine!

I would say that throughout Fontaine's Archon Quest she was just a glorified NPC, she had no personality at all besides being that badass duelist; she was just smashed there to put her later on a banner. Her story quest certainly did her justice, but she clearly wasn't meant to be character that makes people pull for her because of her personality.

Spoiler warning!!!!! @@Keiki-kun I would totally not consider her being character who tied the story. Act 1 - she stood behind Furina and acted as cheerleader, she had 1 line Act 2 - she appeared in cutscene to protect us and then she was totally irrevelant Act 3 - she had no screen time Act 4 - I agree here. She saved Freminet and that's it. I don't consider her being important during the leak incident as she didn't really do anything. How was she supposed to hold the water back? By shooting it? Her presence there was totally unnecessary and they could have really got rid of her and the story wouldn't change. Act 5 - She had her monologue about hunting which could've been led by anyone and the only important thing she did was to drew her blade against Furina. So yeah, she appeared 7 times in 20h story just to be a cheerleader for more than a half of these...

Clorinde demo music is an absolute banger! It feels European enough even with all the EDM techno-style music genshin has. And her gameplay is really fun, it's like c6 Xiao but electro and I was lucky enough to get c1 Clorinde in the same 10 pulls so that's another huge W for me. I'm more of a gameplay > character design and story kind of person so it was a no-brainer. So, Clorinde doesn't scale with HP, just the amount of Bond Of Life (BoL) does, it's just like Arlecchino (almost all BoL characters do). They are both traditional attack and crit scalers. Clorinde's story is purposefully kept mysterious because it is explored more in her story quest, so you're gonna have to play them and experience it yourself!

Great reaction! Yes, I think one of things about Clorinde’s demo is that it is coming out so late after the story was released in Fontaine. Players who have been through the story know Clorinde. She was also in the lantern rite event (in a part released to players who had finished the Fontaine quest) and we learned more about her there too. I think Hoyo is assuming people know the other sides of her character, and so they are focusing on the cool factor. But there is more depth to her character.

Your opinion on her is the same as my opinion on her during the archon quests. But that opinion has changed now that I know her more. She is definitely a character you learn more about through other characters rather than herself

@@TheRoschi yes she has a lot of hobbies and almost all of Fontaine's characters have interactions with her for example: She likes tea but not to Wrio's obsessive level so they occasionally have tea together In addition to being a duelist, she also works as a bodyguard for Furina and Neuvillette she tests beauty products with Sigewinne because Sigewinne writes for the most famous beauty magazine in Fontaine and it was also in one of these D&D sections that Navia gained her Vision when they were both younger

Just a little thing on Clorinde Kit: She scales off ATK, the Bond of Life gimmick is just that, a Gimmick. She basically blocks healing during her special stance and heals whenever she perform her special skill. The healing scales on the Bond of Life which means that theres's a way to turn the little fun gimmick into an actual busted heal. Mine is healing for around 30k HP total, every 9 seconds, which is almost double her HP. Edit: And you're right about her playstyle. Its crazy fun. Her damage is quite good too.

i dont know this's true or not but from my opinion, her teaser have a connection with wriothesley teaser. i forgot u already react to wriosthesley teaser or not. but if u watch you maybe have explanation. also the big hilicurl in her demo, some people and include me assume the big hilicurl there was a part of fontaine world quest. it's still unclear tho , and after try her in trial , i decide to pull her , her playstyle for me is *cheffkiss

Yeah they really cooked with style with these trailers, both just make her look so cool but I agree I would've loved to see more of her personality as well since at least from where I'm at the story I barely know anything about her and I've completed the archon quests... But I've heard her story quest is good so I'm looking forward to it. Gameplay wise I personally wasn't a fan, she's just a bit too simple to use for me from her trial, kind of just like Ayato, but without his supporting abilities, and kind of the same as Keqing who I've used for nearly 3 years already, still deciding If I'll skip or get her since I have a guarantee.. I personally was A LOT more impressed by the 4 star this patch, honestly felt like Sethos has a lot more depth and is the secret 5 star of the patch, just so fun and unique to use, hoping you react to his trailer as well since I think it's personally my favorite 4 star trailer so far.

Definitely reasonable Statement to not pull for Clorinde, given that there isn´t much told about her in the demo. For me personally I have a bit of a fable for those "stoic" style characters. Given that, i´ll probably get her in her rerun banner if it suits the previous/therafter banner ; Like no new really interesting character or any character i want signature weapons/constellations. I did really enjoy her gameplay in the trial, really fast, smooth, but needs a good team to get her to full potential. Heck... even if you don´t have a good team for her, the gameplay is just alot of fun!! Didn´t play her story quest yet, but what from i´ve heard it´s really good. Thanks for the Video!

I'll admit she's a very likeable character in the game itself. And I'll also admit the demo and teaser didn't help me appreciate her more. She's actually kinda soft spoken more than stoic and has a sense of dry bri'ish humour. Also pretty friendly and caring. You got a lot to unpack in that last part. Edit: Also I got her in 5 pulls trying to get Sethos... Time to build I guess XD

I think you'll definitely like her in Fontaine's story. She has alot more to her than the stoic duelist side. I just finished her story quest and man I did not expect it to be this good!

Clorinde is definitely a cool character. I feel like they waited so long to finally release her as playable that the hype isn't really there. Her story quest that came out this patch is definitely in my top 5 favorites, it was a pleasant surprise how good it was. Good stuff as always!

Yes, I remember being pretty excited for her when I saw the 4.0 Trailer but like you said, I feel that the hype has diminished somewhat. Not entirely, but it's not nearly as big as it was before. I'm glad that she is incorporated in the game in a way that fleshes her out more at the very least.

10:34 She doesn't. Bond of Life in general just scales off your HP, since it's a red bar that STEALS your heals. Like, if you heal a character who has Bond of Life, the Bond of Life STEALS those heals instead. Her damage itself still scales off Atk. Arlecchino and now Clorinde, both just make use of Bond of Life in their gameplay now, since it was basically just a heal-blocking mechanic before.

I very much agree that her trailers are super cool and flashy but there's not much of personality (which she indeed has a lot), it's a very thin line between showing cool animations and just showing a character's personality, sometimes Hoyo nails to balance them, sometimes not. As a Clorinde wanter ever since we first saw her in The Final Feast teaser, I was a little bit disappointed with these trailers BUT I very much enjoyed her story quest in game, it's super cool. Of course you're far away from doing it but I can guarantee that it's doing justice for our beloved badass pistolet wielder

All I can say without spoiling is "what a woman"! Yeah, over all these videos are mostly promotional content, they try to not reveal too much. Most character you do meet in game in some form and that is where you get more of their personalities. Clorinde plays a important role in the Fontaine main quest line, but in that she's mostly just a badass. However in this version we found out she also plays DnD in her spare time (this isn't a spoiler as they mention it in the version trailer). All I can say is she's a great GM.

i'm gonna be honest, Clorinde's promo stuff is kinda lame It's the opposite to wriothesley's teaser. While wrio's teaser showed a different side to him and gave him depth, clorinde's teaser was generic and added nothing we didn't know (she's a duelist) While wrio's teaser had a bittersweet story of an npc, clorinde's teaser had the same npc be a generic asshole who instantly started to shiver It didn't even manage to show her strength since intimidating a generic slim npc is not impressive, hoyo should have teased the callas duel or a playfight with you know who the demo is a bit underwhelming too which is a shame because her own quest was very unique
