You seem to like "Little Boy In The Grass", and it is a great performance, but this Nidarosdomen version sounds almost upbeat. Actually it is a sad/somber song about remembering the victims of the Utøya massacre in Norway in 2011 and about being over the grief. I suggest you either see this version privately or react to it if you want, it is like a different song, very somber and emotional but also very beautiful: youtu .be/1kiV704Nd_I Here is a quote from Aurora's wiki about the song: "Today is the day. 22nd of July. It's been 4 years since you left us. Since all of you left us. how time flies, we even find ourselves forgetting for a moment, nearly moving on.. Not because we forget you, but because we remember to live. But know that I will always remember you, and everyone that went down with you. I will think of love, and send love to those who needs it this today. I hope no one is crying alone. Rest in peace my friend. You are free now." - AURORA

This is a 1000 year old cathedral built when they used stone to reflect and ampliphi sound so the celebrant could be heard throughout the cathedral. They are performing from the acoustical focus point of the cathedral so much of the sound quality you hear is the sound of the cathedral itself responding to the performance. It is truly both magical and mystical.

Hi there Fern! I haven't watched the full video yet because I wanted to stop and talk about Little Boy in the Grass. It's one of my most favorite songs so I wanted to give you the meaning behind it! Little Boy in the Grass is based off an attack in Norway on July 22, 2011. It's said that more than 70 people were killed. Someone that Aurora loved died in the massacre so Aurora felt the need to write a song about it. If you listen to the lyrics closely, you'll understand what they mean. Anyway, thank you for another great reaction as always! I can't wait to finish the video🌞

I literally remember the date I first saw this..... March 15, 2020. I remember that because it was THE first thing I'd ever seen/heard of Aurora. My work had _just_ shut down due to Covid, I was stuck at home worried and weirded out, and I randomly saw this concert by this girl I'd never heard of. After the first LINE when she sang "there WAAAAS a boy...." I was like OK, I'm done, what...IS....this? who...IS...she?? One hour later, I was a genuinely changed person, a totally different kind of human. ;P That was 2 and a half years ago....and now I'm basically the most ridiculous Aurora super fan ever. But it was this concert that started it all. Looking back on it, how lucky was I? To start with THIS concert of all things? There are many artists and bands who's music I love, a handful who's music means more to me than anything, and maybe 3 artists....who I genuinely love, artists who have completely changed the course of my mental and emotional and creative and spiritual life. For me I think that would be Tool, Sigur Ros, and Aurora. Her music, and her humanity...who she is as a person, has had such a positive impact on my life, I'm just beyond grateful. Sometimes I honestly question if I'd still be alive right now if I hadn't discovered her.....

You can really hear how much Auroras technique has progressed when you compaire her voice from this to her voice now. One thing she has overcome, was her tendency to get a bit nasal in certain vocalisations. That, you will find, is now gone. Aurora is an absolute natural talent but she is also a very hard worker and a disiplined professional. A true giant despite her young age. My fav artist of all time.

@@soleywolfgangsdottir I partly agree with you. I don't think the nasal parts are bad at all, I think she expresses whatever she wants in the moment, and the voice is her favorite instrument to do so. She experiments with different sounds to touch out emotions in the way she wants. Her latest performances seem like they come from a happier place than some of her older stuff. I love that she is happier now with what she does, than she was before. Still her sadder, more frantic+++ performances were more heart-wrenching to me. I guess the performances just have different qualities. And I am sure she still has the ability to touch our emotions in all kinds of ways.

Aurora’s songs she wrote very young, she would write the melody at a younger age (ie Lucky at 9? Or her songs she wrote at 11-12), but the final lyrics you hear now were written a few years later. Still as a child or young teen, still incredible, but I wanna clarify that bc sometimes people talk about it like, “how was a 9 year old writing lyrics about these things or thinking about these topics?” Either way it’s incredible. I mean she’s .. basically a musical prodigy in my book. But just wanted to clarify that.

I had to split up watching this (there is this football thing going on, and there has been a sad passing in close family). Aurora does not enjoy birthday gifts much, as we know. So it made me smile wondering if it is us nagging you to watch this in its entirety who gave you a gift - or it is you gifting us by letting us relive it through your "first-impression experience". I landed on a happy tie 😀 You lived, as expected, up to the challenge. I know for a fact that the first time I saw this concert I was both non-reactive and non-responsive. Since I think it was the first time I experienced her going "full analogue orchestration" in concert (she was of course famous for her "stripped" versions already).
