Yes! Hunger and Soulless Creatures, for me at least, are the 2 big underrated songs from this album. Soulless Creatures in particular....it's shocking to me she's only done it live once, it's SO good. But Hunger has such a cool vibe....almost Southeast Asian at times in terms of harmony and timbre. I really hope she explores all sorts of diverse forms of music from around the world in future albums.

@@FernStone The River is my baby and her Askjell remix is THE remix. Those background chanting vocals in the chorus are scratching juuuust the right itch and it feels so damn good listening to it. And the music video is probably the most beautiful one I've seen from Aurora. Can't even imagine how I didn't like the song when it was released back in 2019... I'm still so looking forward to the video! Hunger is so good, honestly. It's such a shame that it's probably the only song (or one of) that Aurora never performed live🥲

Step I and Step II are really such a special musical experience. Aurora has said that there may even be a Step III eventually to cap off this magnum opus! So glad you loved these and I cannot wait to see you react to HAIK and maybe even her newer songs as the new album comes out!

A different kind of human is about death, instead of heaven it talks about going to the mother ship, it tries to explain that the reason people die is because they are somehow " special" or like the tittle says " a different type of human" so they are been removed from this world.

'A different type of human' is actually about death. The concept behind is that what if when we die, "people" come to get us to another planet, in the mothership? Having said that, the song was written from the perspective of the "people" that come to get us. In 'Mothership', we get to the planet, that's why she ask if she's home and later in the song, she says "I'm home" :)

I encourage you to watch some of her interviews while we wait for her 4th album! The triple j interview is great, but any of them are awesome! Really shows her quirky and lovable personality. Can we all just talk about how genius "Apple Tree" is. Like it's beautiful lyrics such as "just like the moon is a stone, but a star when it's dark" or "hunter is loud and predictable, scaring away every prey so they are gone before the hunter arrives". Also a quick vent, the lyric "Can you carry the weight of mortality" hits hard at least for me, because even though I have accepted death as a part of life and my body as a small part of the grand universe to eventually give back, it still hurts to be thrown into a world full of adventures and wonders, emotions both scarring and cherishable (idk if that's a word), to know that you can only experience just so much of it before you're gone😔. That wasn't very quick so thanks for reading it❤️❤️

in bottles is a continuum of "in boxes", both songs tell the story about a woman who kills men (more precisely, her love partners), in in bottles the woman is trying to hide all the parts of the bodies of the other men she killed. That's why she says "I hide all the pieces that I know you wouldn't like, so I hide my children"

I've watched a lot of Aurora videos since I discovered her about a month ago. I've gone full-on crazy, watching and listening to everything of her, and about her, that I can get my hands on-including a *lot* of reaction videos. Yours are, hands-down, the best. The way that you bring in all aspects of the music to talk about, and appreciate so many disparate elements of each song, is really quite remarkable. You catch so many little things-some of which I hadn't even caught in my *many* listens, like the breath sounds in In Bottles. You caught that right away and I'd never even noticed it! You also seamlessly tie in the lyrics and their meaning with your analysis of the music. Your ability to recall stuff from previous songs and albums and connect it to what you're hearing now is super interesting. The comparisons to things like Madonna, The Prodigy, etc are really cool to listen for. Your ability to describe in detailed layman's terms not just THAT you like the song, but WHY you like the song, can't be overstated. It's a joy to have my enjoyment enhanced by your enjoyment. Most of all though, you perfectly describe how Aurora's music makes me (along with so many others) *feel*. The feelings that you're OK, that you're welcome, that you're *special*...it's so hard to describe that. This is what art is for! To make us FEEL things. And goddamnit does she ever. And you get it, and it's so fun to see someone else get it in the way that I do. Not that anyone's feelings or interpretations are necessarily more right than anyone else's, but...you get it ;-) So, thanks!

I also love the lyric in Animal that goes "the weight upon my shoulders felt so divine...." Saucy Aurora! I love how, despite her image as this pure innocent fairy being, she's also quite a sensual and sexual person. But she expresses it in such a cool and empowered way. It's why _some_ fans reaction to that side of her can be so....off putting. You know, the people who think it's their job to "protect her" innocence or something. Yuck. This is Aurora for you. You start listening to her and you think "wow this song is amazing this is the best thing of art I've ever heard nothing can top this in a million years". And then you listen to the next song. But on a more serious note. You are not obligated in any way to like any particular song. This is what reactions are for. There are no people without a sin and as much as it hurts me to say this but Aurora is no exception. I would personally prefer honest opinion over anything else. If anyone will try to belittle you for it he is not a true fan of Aurora at best and not a good person at worst. I'd rather prefer you'd listen to 10 songs and wont like a couple then you not listening to them at all out of fear. Since you will miss out on 8 song you will like.

Late to the party but have my random comment anyway haha A few months ago she organised some of her songs into themed compilations and would then do a KZbin live talking about her choices and singing one of the songs. For her Stories compilation she sang A Different Kind of Human and explained the meaning behind it - it's for the people who leave too soon and for whom the world caused so much pain, and she imagined little creatures coming down and offering comfort and taking them to a safe place where they wouldn't feel that pain anymore. The song hadn't really left a lasting impression on me previously but listening to her talk and then sing it made me break down crying in my shower lol because there was someone who'd been on my mind a lot and now I think of them when I hear the song, hoping they made it to that safer place This comment is so rambling but I appreciate Aurora's artistry and this album so much and thank you for doing such a lovely reaction to it

Regarding maybe not liking the album, I just watched another reactor listen to the album. Some songs he loved, but others he was quite dismissive about, a bit aggressively so, even (he is Spanish, so...). But my point is, he received nothing but love in the comments despite that. So don't worry. Besides, I had no doubts since I saw you listen to the first album, that you would like them progressively better as we went along. No doubt at all, based on the elements you liked then. Also, you can only fall deeper in love with Aurora.

If you don't like some songs or part or what ever it's ok, Aurora herself doesn't want to plz everyone, She said that their is a song for evryone and it's not evry song for evryone. Grab what you want, you need, that's all. 3- Now i think you realy begin to get Aurora... as you may know by now she is unic and so creative, so take a look at her video, she decide and designe and choose the color and choregraph and almost evrything. they are not some kind of commercial clip to hook ppl to the album, it her showing in a way what she want to comunicate in the song. they are realy cool and powerfull. (and they are some that i love and some that i don't ;-) ) i would recomande the seed, truely an experience and i personely love Queendom. 4- As i love Aurora and enjoye watching ppl discovering her, i've seen sooo many reaction about her, You are my favorit! The way you don't try to explain her technique (cuz she doesn't have any, she is a self taught in music and delevire all by instinc) You don't try to analyse the lyrics and give some meaning to it, you give your feeling, what you get from it and that is realy nice, and i love that you let yourself fly with her, guided by the beat and the waves they create. This album is so good. My favs are kind of a tie between Hunger, Soulless Creatures, and A Different Kind of Human. With The River and Apple Tree close behind. I was never super into Animal, tho it's not bad at all, but the pre-chorus....I adore. The part that starts on the lyric _"I stand under headlights...."_ I love how it sorta switches to a half-time feel, and brings in these sizzling sparkly effervescent synth tones. So exciting....

Just want to say that I love your reactions. Can't wait to see HAIK. Would be awesome if you could react to "Once Aurora" sometime, you really get an insight into Aurora as a person, her struggles and her determination. It can be rented/bought on Vimeo. I feel like songs like animal, churchyard, and it happened quiet are DEFINITELY so much better live just because it sounds like exactly how it was intended, and instead of the produced versions, it seems more authentic and it gives off a more intense energy and more provokes more emotion and us as listeners connect to it easier and almost immediately because of how into it we are.... not sure if any of tgat made any sense... not sure what I'm saying hahahahaha anyways

I would say that you feel what you feel, and only you can decide what your impression of things are. I often would like reactors to like things that I love, but if they don't I usually just move on to the next reactor. I can count on one hand the times I've used the option to dislike a video or a response. It's just so unnessecary. You always have well reasoned arguments for why you like or dislike something, and that is something that commands respect. I think you should always be yourself, and hopefully not care to much about what other people think. This is some advice I need to tell myself too, quite often actually.

Dance on the moon live is a must. Seriously. The exist for love session. I only heard that version first but it's amazing. The studio version does nothing for me. Apple tree is so amazing ,the video is awesome and Daydreamer just makes you feel good inside, the video is great. Also, lady of my heart, a verve fan. I love them! For a sad but powerful song, Little Boy In The Grass Mahogany session is freaking amazing. She makes you feel her pain,

I always encourage watching the live versions, but for Animal you *need* to watch the videoclip - it's a whole other side of Aurora and it's freaking gorgeous. Also, a good reminder that Norway is not just forests and mountains and she's also very much into the rave culture there xD (BTW, "Haik" is pronounced like the english "hike", and means the same (aka giving someone a car hike/ride))

So Aurora really knows how to make good freaking music, oh yes she does...and she makes this very special kind of music you can listen and feel in your mind in your soul in your heart and physically you get the chills from the tip of your hair to the tip of your toes, yes it moves inside you and off course, you know what she is talking about cause you've been there before and you keep going to that place, you fucking know what she's saying cause she is talking about you......and she makes you smile, shed a little tear but she's not letting you down no you feel so good you don't want it to end...More people should be able to find her and this could certainly become a much better place to live. Music taste can never be universal or equal and also some songs need time to get under your skin, it is not easy to react at first listen. Aurora fans appreciate honesty rather than acting and inclusion rather than exclusion no matter if you love or hate a song. Luckily it's hard not to find something to like whether it be her lyrics, her message, her vocals, her storytelling, the production, the beat but if you don't like a song it's just fine. Nothing is eternal (you should react to that Aurora documentary), it'll grow on you over time anyway 😆😅🤣

Have now checked this and you are my favorite AURORA listener. However, I am not entirely with you that it is the best record. But that is what is so good about all the three "records" they are so different. I think this record is a bit scattered and I get more emotional from the first and the second.
